avoid XunJinDa Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. for knock off pro

avoid XunJinDa Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. for knock off pros. I had ordered my all silver with transparent cap from this seller and the case wouldn't even fit properly upon installing it on my phone.

the width of the inner transparent cap is too narrow to fit the metal bezel of the iphone. the transparent cap isn't transparent all the way through as there's a gold coating at the back of the cap.

in the end, had to return the case and lodge a paypal claim to get my money back.

go instead for this seller though it costs slightly more, http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...dition-case-Vapor-Pro-Bumper-wholesalers.html.

the case and accessories' quality are much better, the speed wrench and screws are similar to elementcase's; whereas, xjd's screws are the normal cross type and the screwdriver is more simple.

How long did it take you to get your case? Can you post some pictures of it? Thanks!

the earlier knock off version with the black cap, as purchased from ebayz. I sold it off to this guy who took the pictures

I am just reading. Many people have good luck with this cases. My spectra navi is off like 5 city blocks and signal down 1 bar when instant case is on. Any body in manhattan with this problem

Il in Manhatten right this second and I'm having this problem WITHOUT the case - thank you AT&T!

I never had any signal problems with the real or replica vapor pro. Just with AT&T service being bad in certain areas. Even gps is ran partially on cell signals so if network is bad then you will be affected too.

looks nice, dont like the slits cutout on the side though

I suspect the "slits" that don't have an obvious function are part of the design that aids the signal reception and they seem to do the job pretty well. I personally like the complexity they add to the design. Most everything about the design is based purely on the function. The end product ends up looking great. In this case (excuse the pun) form follows function.

That doesn't make sense, GPS uses a satellite signal not a cell signal and I've had no cell coverage in some areas but the gps was fine.

No AT&T. I have 4 bar without case. 10 seconds after putting case on I have 2 bar flashing 3 bar. Im in columbia university in 116th street. Navi shows me precisely without case almost exact. with spectra on sometime no find me or it will be 5 to 7 block south. wide circle.

lol, ignore him. He usually talks BS. GPS may use cell signals to get an initial fix quickly, but its the satellite signal that it uses to help you navigate to your destination. The lack of cell reception has no eventual effect on GPS. I could turn off my phone signal and still use an app like TomTom (all data stored on iPhone) to navigate, its just that the initial fix for the GPS will take 10-15 seconds instead of getting an immediate fix.

Its obvious that the Vapor pro has a very negative affect on GPS signals and for some unknown reason, he feels compelled to defend its shortcomings.

I'm not - I am just explaining my own experience. Why all the hostility? Do you work for another aluminum case maker or something?

The city has bad reception - period. Like you say GPS uses the cell signal to lock down faster - when signal is down it takes longer. Stop trying to make it seem like I'm defending something without relevance. My experience is my own and that's what we are all here to share - OUR own experience.

If someone doesn't like the case, return it - nice and simple. I never had problems with GPS in Seattle - only NYC.

^^^^Sorry mate, didnt want to come off as hostile, just wanted to point out how facts are being twisted or just totally ignored to explain deficiencies.

Are you with a vapor PRO or vapor 4? I have never gotten this with the vapor pro (I've had two). Anyways you can always try for the incase snap case if you want a cheap/clean version. I have a frost white (kinda of clear matted like dry ice) for my white iPhone and it looks great.

I second this - GPS uses a line of sight signal and, like the satellite dish on your roof, if it can't see the sky for the satellite it may revert to triangulating off of signals from cell towers to approximate your location.

That means that buildings in the city, trees, heavy cloud cover, etc can all be detrimental to GPS reception.

I got this in the car with my iPad on my lap (as a passenger) on I5 in BFE CA, of all places. I got a much better reading with the iPad closer to the window. FWIW....

That does not explain this. as i stated
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/12713365/

with out case no problem, very exact finding. seconds after case installed blocks away and signal down. if building and clouds were excuse then it should be the same with no case yes?

i sending this back for return.

My Black Ops case arrived yesterday and I promptly put the case on the phone.

I'm very happy with the fit/finish of the product, I was surprised by how light it feels.

If I feel so motivated I'll snap a few pics later. I can't answer how the other cases might have felt such as the e13ment but the black ops case has a comfortable feel in the hand.

As others have stated, I've not noticed any wifi/3g problems but a quick test of the GPS has showed problems attaining a lock but after that, it seemed to work ok.

Go ahead, send it back, that's your perogative...

But I'm just curious, how scientific was your testing? Did you reset the phone after testing before/after to test acquisition and level the playing field between time to sat signal lock and number of sats locked on?

A GPS device locked on to more sats will display a better fix than one with less, so if you test with the case on and then remove case to test, you have to reset and start from scratch, otherwise the device can gather more signals and get a better lock while removing the case.

Also, did you do your test with wifi disabled? Were you moving? Outdoors or indoors? Hey, we're talking about technology here and if you're going to test/compare, you might as well do it right.

BTW: I've noticed a lot of people complaining about Navigon not working correctly and I checked out their download page because I wasn't familiar with it. Right on that page they mention something about iPhone GPS reception issues with their app. They have help pages on their website explaining about doing a reset to clear some cache or something that helps:

A wise mentor of mine once had a saying,"Technology is stuff that doesn't always work." ie. a wired telephone is not technology, but cell phones still are. TV's are not technology, but streaming a movie over Hulu is...

Sorry, long post, I'm a (sometimes) blogger and I get diarrhea of the mouth...

Yes, they are knockoffs for sure, but are very similar in look and feel to the Vapor 4. The quality is not much worse than the actual Vapor 4.

If i buy this version, Would I have to "isolate'' so the reception won't be affected? I'm trying to find something on this topic with no luck.

The Vapor 4 and it's knockoffs all affect reception.

Why not try the Vapor Pro knockoffs from AliExpress instead, then you wont have to worry about reception issues. And a respected user has posted that the Vapor Pro knockoffs dont affect GPS either (unlike the OEM ones). ;)

Unless of course, you absolutely love that Vapor 4 shape, like me :p
