it flexes? could you elaborate more? How does it flex if it is form fitting of the phone?
however, i think it should hold up well in a fall. its polycarbonate, meaning it is very strong. they use it on automobile exteriors etc.. it should bend, but not break unless great force was applied to it.
Like all of the Vapor cases, the actual case has a small air gap along the sides as not to touch the sides of the phone. The phone only technically made contact at the top and the corners of the case.
This was more important on the all aluminum versions so it didn't de-tune the antenna. The older ones flexed slightly too at the sides, but since it was aluminum it was hardly noticeable.
The polycarbonate cap is a really flexible plastic. As such it flexes. Since the COMP uses the same principles of not touching the phone on the sides it has some play. The cap flexes on that side below the volume buttons. The molded buttons literally sit on top of the phone volume controls. Below them, where part of my hand rests, there is some play in the cap. It is really noticeable when typing since your finger will naturally hit the side of the case in portrait mode. Also, there is an ever-so-slightly lip for some lay on the table design, and so it does stick up slightly.
One other note that has come to my attention is that the back of the phone is flush with the rear of the case. Meaning that the back of the phone rubs on the table when laying face up. Face down, there is no problem.
Hope that helps.
