Was posting erroneous messages on the vapor threads the only reason you joined MR?
I've got some medium density 3M foam waiting here to line the inside of this damn thing...whenever it gets here...bastard guys...Adam, where is my case!!!???
If you reference one of my last posts on in this thread regarding me installing the thick Wrapsol Ultra shield all around the antenna of my iPhone prior to installation, you'll see that it has made a huge difference with my reception, bluetooth, and GPS issues. This is the second day that I've had it set up like this, and it's working great still. Without the shield installed, my data speeds were cut by more than 50%, bluetooth didn't work beyond about 5 feet from the phone, and my GPS would show me about 30 yards off, if it even ever got a fix at all.

Exactly, I saw your post and thought that if the case itself was insulated as opposed to the wrapsol on the iphone it would work even better, although your solution seems to work perfect. I just never liked having any BSE, zagg or wrapsol on the iPhone.

Talking to a few case designers, my understanding is you can't have that much metal so close to the sides of the phone. Above & below not so much, but on the sides is a no-no.
We'll see.
Seems like GPS is most sensitive (early indicator) of this issue?
There is really no need to get so upset, I just want to see some pictures of the case. Fine, then post pictures here along with everyone else complaining about issues and refunds. But for those people still deciding which colour to get this would be easier as all of the images would be in one thread and they wouldn't have to search through pages to find pictures.

Got may case today. Ordered on July 3 and it took a few e-mails to Adam at Element to get it shipped out but it arrived and it is looking good. Calls don't drop when I hold the side of my phone, my Beats headphone jack fits, don't seem to have signal and gps issues. Case with carbon back looks great!
I really don't like the Wrapsol on my phone either, as I am a "case whore" and like to change cases often. With this extremely thick Wrapsol on, I can't fit any other case on at all...no slider cases, no TPU cases, not even my Otterbox. But I knew from fitting the Vapor on my naked iPhone that the aluminum was definitely coming into contact with my antenna...I could see it. Plus that cheap-a**ed foam Element puts in the case compresses once and collapses, so it has no resiliency at all. So I figured it touching the antenna MIGHT be a problem (I'm not 100% sure that this is the culprit, although I know in MY case it's made the case function a lot better). Wish I had thought of the idea of lining the Vapor with thick electrical tape instead of spending $20 on this Wrapsol! With the electrical tape/foam solution applied to the Vapor itself, the solution stays with the case, and I'd be free to swap cases when I want. May play around with that too, although I'd have to waste the Wrapsol to try it. But God knows I've got plenty of time, since it'll take forever for Element to respond to my refund request!

Lol. Yeah...I think I have the same stuff installed around my windows and doors...aka weatherstripping. Looks just like that.
Once USPS gets it and Element Case has said it is shipped it's up to USPS to track it. Why would Element Case contact you further.
Maybe we're not talking about the same part of the process.

Wtf? What? What part of having a thread dedicated to real world pics is a bad idea? And why would anyone care about whether they were the one who started a thread or not? Anyone can start a thread. It would be nice to be able to look at pics and not have to wade through everyone's sob stories and bitching about the customer service they're not getting. It's the same post over and over but worded differently. Don't get me wrong it's legitimate but if I want to read about it, I scan the 30 pages of this thread. If I just want to see pictures of it, I could go to a separate thread. Brilliant.
Once USPS gets it, they update the delivery confirmation number. Where the problem lies is that Element is generating the USPS numbers days, and even up to a week or more in advance, then that info is automatically sent to the customer. But isn't active in the USPS system until Element actually gets the package to the post office, which can take days (in my case, 8 days) to happen. So until Element gets the case to USPS, the tracking info will show what the posters above have stated as their message when tracking the package using the tracking number that Element provides. The delay is caused by Element in this case, not the USPS.
The main thing that pissed me off is not his creating his own topic. Not even pointing to it earlier on today in this thread. It was when he posted again within a few hours in this thread pointing to his topic and then bumping his topic.
It really seems that users are having diffrent experiences based on their location and if they have a protective skin on their phone. When it comes to bars I don't think I can trust that at all. I can move 10 feet in any direction and loose 3 bars or gain three bars without a case on. Honestly Apple in the next update remove the dam bars altoghther because it doesn't reflect my ability to make or not make calls.
Just curious about pre-order emails. I put in a request to pre-order on July 5th, and iv'e heard nothing from element. I've seen reference to others, who have gotten emails allowing them to order. Can someone who has gotten an email, tell me when they put in a request to pre-order??

They used to have a decent hidden option which was *3001#12345#* and that gave you your signal in dBm - eg -80 dBm etc. I used this often in the office and apartment.
However, Apple took this out with iOS 4.0, perhaps to actually mask what was going on with the signal as opposed to the rudimentary bars.

You can easily scan through both element case threads and view pictures without reading anything. Theres absolutely no purpose in another thread.
