I have the case and my signal is fine. Some have an issue and some don't. I'm willing to bed the Atomic case is no different... And it has less holes and doesn't look as nice.

Hey Nolesfan

If you get time could you check the headphone port and let us know if it differs from the element. You can't even get a pair of bose buds in the element case and they are super small. The bottom port does seem a lot bigger and that's a hugh improvement over the Element design. I must say it does look boxier but that might make it look a lot better in person than on the web, I don't know. Also how was the shipping time and customer service?

I still like the Vapor more, as I said before, we can fight all day but eventually nobody will win because we can't argue about personal taste.
There's just something to the Atomic case that I don't like. Probably the sharper edges.
 
Oh , if anyone is thinking to order one of the atomic cases use the code 6speed to get 10% off your purchase. I found it while looking for reviews.

Haha. We know you like the Vapor. You have pretty much redesigned the whole case for Element. They keep watching this post to see what else you will come up with. :D
 
I have used the apple earbuds and my personal earbuds are klipsch and they fit too. Those are the only two sets I have to try. I think the opening is a little bigger but not a whole bunch. The buttom is alot bigger. It will accept aftermarket cords and even the thick one apple used to give with the real old ipods. The cord that actually locks down and you have to squeeze the release to get it back out. So it might even work with people's dockstations, again not sure though.

Sounds like a few people in group 5 have been getting theirs... not so lucky here.

Order #79XX - Sept 2nd.

Went into 'Awaiting shipment' on Sept 3rd and hasn't moved since.

Extreme metals (Nickel).

Will be interesting to see if/when this arrives. :)


EDIT - less than an hour later after posting this, I got a ship notification.
 
Glad to see we have some competition going on. For me, Element Case....what can I say, they are terrible at their "jobs". The other two competitors look better IMHO, maybe Element will stop the pre-order crap when customers start looking elsewhere....also what kind of people are buying these things on eBay? Saw one go for 200+ in a couple months you can get it for 60. I want one of these cases, will check and see which one is really the best for ordering around Oct/Nov.

it doesn't even look nearly as good as the vapor4 at this point. The cuts the suefaces & edges dont seem to be scrip/sharp as the Vapor...I hope more closeup/better quality pics would prove me wrong .
 
My Element case sold on Ebay in 4 hours. I didn't charge a mark up for it. Just enough to cover the cost of it and the ebay/paypal charges. I can say with totally honesty It did work fine for me with no signal issues or modifications. I sold mine because I needed a battery case and a different case with super toughness. Plus I'm a case whore and I want to get my paws on every case out there and check it out. That's the real reason. :D I think I will check back with element when they have made some improvements to their product and a whole mess of improvements to their customer service, ordering system and shipping system. As of right now they are by far the worst I've dealt with. Even when they make a mistake the answer is we are sorry but don't offer their customers anything for the poor service they received. Hell, give people a break on shipping or send them a free part. Don't make us feel like we are bugging you about an order that was paid for months ago and not received.
Like someone else said the longer they keep messing up the more we will see other companies jumping in stealing their lunch.
 
6.5 hours until I file a dispute with paypal against elementcase...they have until 12am PST to get back to me with usable tracking information...still nothing as of yet....EC guys, I know you read this thread...so stop and send me my black/red or silver/blue case...you guys get to choose!!!! easy as pie y0!!!!

I still can't believe the Vapors go for what they do on eBay. Hell, just joking around I posted the buy it now price on my USED Vapor at $150, and it seriously didn't last an hour and a half before being bought! On a different note, you got the Seidio Rugged in yet?
 
accidentally dropped my iphone 4 with the vapor one. It hit the rug, bounced up and hit the wall then landed on a wood table. No damage to the phone or case (looked at the case for like 10 minutes in all angles of light). The vapor case did take a nice chunk out of my wall though.

That's still a good price. We have seen them go for 300. I sold my for 125. Like I said I wasn't trying to make a profit. I just don't like having cool gadgets around my house not being used. I normally sell my stuff to friends and co workers but right now I'm selling custom kits from ( SGP & Lucky labs )
Installed and making a good profit. My Rugged was suppose to be here today but nothing yet. The combo kit seems like such a good idea that I may have to do a lame unboxing video for YouTube.

from ear height? I did somthing like that too with my naked iphone few days ago. Dropped while talking on to carpet, bounce into wall. Naked iphone is fine no scratches. I think real test should be outside on pavement

from about chest height, i was carry it onto of a book, then i let the book go to carry it one hand (forgetting about my phone). So it fell from about chest height. I hope i never drop my phone on the pavement (knock on wood)

true that i think the chance of someone doing a real life drop test with this case is very unlikely. But people that buy cases like these thinking its can act is great protection for their iphone also needs a reality check!

Well said! And quite an interesting thread. Read it for a couple of days now lol. Just want to say hats off to both Element and Atomic for coming up with a unique choice other than the mundain looking plastic and rubber alternatives. Obviously these cases are not for everyone. If you want gas mileage get a Toyota Prius or a VW Diesel. If you want style and form, go with a Mercedes, Porsche or Ferrari. Different cases for different people. You guys are comparing form vs. function. Those of you in sufficient signal areas are lucky to have either of these cases as a choice. I get these cases.. sacrafice some function for form. Like you said, some areas they work, some don't! Seems like an AT&T problem if anything. Do you think you would be having signal complaints if you were on Verizon? I mean 3 bars/ 4, or 5 its about not dropping calls! Looking forward to Verizon.

Yeah it is.... I wasn't being funny, just meant I'll be getting all confused AGAIN which one to purchase...Vapour ( on it's way ) Atomic and now this bad boy. I'm starting to come down with case OCD!
