Element Vapor Case

Well since I wrote that bit LOOSING I'm getting better signal in some parts of the work building, and just done a speed test with him, and mines better in all areas of the test. Weird... Buts that the truth... Anyway will give it a week of testing then decide if it's worth keeping.
I received mine yesterday, extreme metal, aluminium colour, the IP4 is a very good looking phone in it's own right, IMHO the Vapor case does not make the phone look any better, but it doesn't make it look any worse, it still looks very good, all in all, Im quite chuffed, no reception problems to report at the moment. The case does what I want it to do, it doesn't disguise the phone so much as to make it ugly, as some of the more extreme variations of protection do, I have one of the Bubble leather bags to give it protection from keys and change when in my pocket, this combination seems just right for me.
I dont know its a grey color with a hint of blue to it. Not black at all. When I ordered I wasn't in a black mood. And the pink choice is what I would have usually gone with, I didn't, not sure why either. But I like the graphite, and the AT&T store guys were amazed.
I do not know why speedtests are used as a gauge of signal strength because there really is not that much relationship most times. The key parameter as to whether you will get a high speed or a medium speed test is the congestion at the particular tower you are connecting with due to bandwidth constraints. Of course if you go down to 1 bar then that is going to affect speed but signal strength display whether bars or using *3001#12345#* really seems very crude with lots of lag in the display.
To give you an example, I can within 5 minutes using the speedtest.net app (which is generally regarded as the best for this particular purpose) get a dl of 3 mb/sec and an ul of 2 mb/sec with 3 bar strength and then have 4 bars showing and get 800 kb/sec download and say 500 kb/sec upload. What does this show? Simply that there was more bandwidth available to me at the time of the higher speed test.

damn early adoptation that still sees me caseless...while people have already received their "extreme metal" versions...though I dont know if I woulda paid the 20beans more for them...but its all about the principalities man

Are you saying that you still don't have your vapor????? Man you need to get a refund! This is total insanity. Even the guy in the US who bought mine has had his Vapor since monday. 27 bucks CAD shipped in 4 days to the US.
Seems like ElementCase guys just make whatever color you choose, no matter if it's in their options or not.
BTW, I'd love to see more pics, just to see how it looks
nothing in the mail today...in fact, I haven't even received a tracking number for my new one they allegedly sent out last week...but I'm letting it slide for now...if I dont see it by next week its just gonna be direct dispute to paypal without going through their channels of emails that take a few days to respond to.
Now I wait for the other guys like alumacase to get their product ready and available...so we'll see, I should be bothered by all this but I'm not really anymore...
Sadly the are the biggest game in town right now and feel that they can do what ever they want. It's true too because we are still here. The other company Exovault makes a nice product and all but won't appeal to the masses like the Vapor does. Atomic case seems to have half started and now it seems like they have stopped. If Alumacase and Fusionwerkz are a hit I'm sure that Element will get a little better to deal with if for no other reason than they will be less busy. I like that Dam frost case........." I finally got my code to place my order this morning and I got the 007 and the ar-15. Cost me a pretty penny but those were the only two extreme's left. I just hope they get here by Christmas!
Thats why grocery stores put the candy and soda racks right by the register. You think oh, Im ready to go dont need anything else, and then BAM I think I want a Snickers now and a Mt Dew and a magazine and some gum, before you know it you added another $30 to your bill and you didnt even know you wanted that crap.

hey if I order the extreme metal without a preorder code what will happen? I already purchased and received a regular vapor.

Any new insulation in Extremes?
I have been reading for quite some from probably about page 20 in the last Element thread. I got my red/black case aug 18th. I used it about 5 or 6 days and took it off because if reception. Calls going to VM and no service in some places. I still have my case still love my case and still want to use my case. I absolutely love that Nickel case but did element do anything about the inside insulation of the case yet? I mean they are charging more for the extremes but did they do anything different with the so call lining?

Hey Alex. What day did you send a pre-order email to Element. I'm just checking on consistency here to see how long it took from your email to being able to order. I know consistency & Element are like the worlds biggest oxymoron but I'm curious.
July the 19th I beleive. I have my doubts, but I can't pass up a 007 related product. Takes me back to the good ol' days of Goldeneye 64...no worries, no girlfriend, no responsibilities....ahhh
Anyways...if the Grove case killed my phone, IDK what's going to happen with the vapor, maybe I'll get lucky
I was dead set on not ordering a case from them, but I caved in when I saw the 007 case haha. By the way, I forgot to apply the code. My order went through, but I'm not sure if I can inform them that I have a code.
I did not apply a code either, I just clicked the link to the limited edition cases and ordered. Mine went through too. I guess we did not need the code.
