Nothing is stopping people from speaking in a public square. The problem is society have made social media as the only place they can speak. That's their fault, not social media. Now they want to treat social media like they are the government instead of a private business.
Twitter is a website, it does't need an app to run. This is why we need (more enforcement of) antitrust laws and regulations. One person or company should not "singularly hold the power" to easily run another company out of business.
Poor argument. Trump never joined Parler. Miller created an account for him but he never used it. It's also currently all over the news that Kanye West is trying to get Trump to join now though.Apple and Google removed Parler only when Trump moved to the platform. Parler's policies did not change;
I suspect it wasn't nearly as bombastic as Elon's tweets. Elon's schtick is fairly transparent but that doesn't mean it doesn't get him meetings, attention and even some money.Man, I’d love to hear that meeting! 😄
You sound like Elon's PR team. Fortunately for you, Twitter is no longer banning some accounts spreading misinformation so carry on over there. The previous version of Twitter was filled with CSAM that the former Trust and Safety people refused to remove, Musk's version is actually purging that filth.
Pardon me if I think a few 'mean tweets' are a fair price to pay for that.
Haha. Musk was served some fake news from his Russian bot platform, I mean TwitterUpdate: Musk says that he and Cook resolved a misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store, which Cook said Apple had not considered.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Sadly you are making that horrible incident political and blaming politics versus the actual perp. Who instigated the January 6 insurrection that lead to deaths and chaos? Who lies to the public every chance they get caught blaming everyone but themselves? Which political side pulls publicity stunts for attention but does little for their constituents? To rile up the right, they just yell out bogus claims like "They are trying to take your guns" meanwhile your social security is being siphoned and no-one is the wiser. It's truly sad.boomer level arguments
Victimhood? tell that to my friend who was stabbed (completely at random) while walking to get ice cream. She's alive but scarred for life. https://www.wbaltv.com/article/mount-vernon-baltimore-stabbing-hunter-street/40970451 Democrats encourage violence, and their policies kill.
Apple has every right to decide what apps they are going to offer in their store. It is a business decision: marketing, branding and product placement are factors that impact Apple’s broader business. For example, Apple isn’t obligated to offer porn apps in their store. They get to make these business decisions. If customers stop buying Apple products, then Apple will need to deal with that too.It may not absolutely "need" an app to run but it can be very beneficial. Not having an app available for a notable portion of a market (given things like Apple's dominance in mobile OS) can have a significant impact on a business.
Regardless, I was specifically responding to a post stating that Tim/Apple "hold the power to put Twitter out of its misery" by dropping the app. My point was that no person or company should have that kind of power or control, and is a reason for antitrust laws and regulations.
Even winning a substantial lottery jackpot requires the help of other people. Literally nobody acquires wealth on their own.
Nobody gets to where they are in life without the help and dependence on other people.

I am not saying Apple should remove Twitter from the App Store. I am simply saying they have every right to do so if they believe it is harmful to their overall business strategy and brand.
Elon played the victim by exaggerating an issue that didn’t exist to begin with. Apple became a bad guy to many based on misinformation put out by a known troll. The "right" a company has can depend on how much dominance they may have in a particular market and the reason/intent behind the blocking or restrictions. Android and iOS control nearly 100% of the mobile OS market with iOS currently having around 55% share in the U.S. Apple not only limits app access (restricting alternative app stores, sideloading, etc.) on iPhones/IOS they sell but also those sold by third-party retailers, and even restricts what end users can do. Antitrust laws and regulations are meant to prevent dominant companies from using their position to unfairly control/influence activities in the particular market(s).
If Apple were to show that removal of Twitter from the app store is justified, it wouldn't necessarily be an issue. My main point was that companies having too much control of a market (like mobile OS) can be problematic, and why antitrust laws and regulations are necessary.
How do we know it didn't? It is entirely believable that Apple would threaten this or bring the topic up. And then after cooler heads prevailed, Apple backpedals and we hear it was never going to happen with Elon being a good guy and going along with that narrative.Elon played the victim by exaggerating an issue that didn’t exist to begin with
So have we ever known Elon to back pedal when he was in the right? Has Trump ever backpedaled when he was caught red handed? LMAO! Stop it! You guys will create excuses and narratives instead of just accepting reality that you see with your own eyes and letting it go. Victims. How do we know it didn't? If you're going to make up a story, I can do the same. We both wrote tales of fiction there. So have we ever known Elon to back pedal when he was in the right? I love it. Tim and Elon are more mature than so many internet users.
I mean technically you just did it though."Elon" and "mature" don't belong anywhere near each other in a sentence
"People have different opinions than me so they must be bots."Haha. Musk was served some fake news from his Russian bot platform, I mean Twitter
