Musk is turning-out to be a moron. The uber twit. The guy "buys Twitter", re-starts Kanye's account (current poster boy for anti-semitism), and tweets really bad sleazy misinformation that Pelosi's husband was attacked by some kind of encounter with a male prostitute gone wrong.

Elon Twit should get a taste of his own medicine. People should start tweeting all kinds of false misinformation about Elon. There could be misinformation Elon is also big on anti-semitism...because he is friends with Kanye...andt here was that lawsuit about racism at one of his Tesla factories...Yes, it really is that easy to produce BS
Agreed. That’s why I stopped believing in the internet a long time ago. Too much false information out there sadly.

Elon Musk has asked Twitter engineers to begin work on an updated version of Vine that could launch before the end of the year, reports Axios. Musk yesterday tweeted a poll asking if he should "bring back Vine," and 69.5 percent of four million respondents said yes.

Twitter acquired video app Vine back in 2012, which was pre-TikTok and back when Vine was popular. The app slowly stopped being used, and Twitter ended up shutting it down in 2016. Vine was designed to let users capture and share six-second looping video clips.

A rebooted version of Vine could compete with popular video app TikTok. Twitter engineers have been told to examine the Vine code base, which has not been changed since it was shut down. One source told Axios that it "needs a lot of work."
I thought ultra short video clips were no longer fad why Vine was yanked before. So now Musk wants to bring it back?

I deleted my Facebook and Instagram accounts at the end of 2019.

I deleted my LinkedIn account a few weeks ago.

I deleted my Twitter account as soon as the rumors of Musk buying it started back in March.

I’ve never used TikTok and see no use for Vine, but I’m clearly not the target audience.

What’s concerning here, if the rumor is true, is the Musk has no clue how true Agile software development works. But why would he? Agile wasn’t around when he owned PayPal, SpaceX has no mass market software timelines they need to hit, and Tesla’s software is basically always in beta. It’ll be fun to watch him destroy this platform and lose $44 billion!

You are GOALS! ❤️ Need more people like you. 👏🏻

Whatever about Twitter, these short-term video apps such as Vine and TikTok are soul cancer. If you have any kids under 16, remove their smartphones from their possession right now. And to be honest, no one under 18 should be anywhere near these apps. Perhaps the worst thing besides war to ever happen teenage well being. Not perhaps—for 100% certain!

It would be hilarious if Twitter tanks after Elon's takeover but people would need something else where they can give an opinion a be heard about issues.

I loved Vine, but it’s too little, too late. The Vine creators already tried to recreate the app a couple years ago, and it didn’t really go anywhere. TikTok has already exceeded Vine’s features, popularity, and influence. What advantage would Vine have over TikTok besides maybe more privacy? And you’d have to overcome the whole network effect all over again. It’s just not feasible.

Vine was cool but TikTok is where it’s at. They have dominated the market. Vine would not last. Better chances of rebooting MySpace.
Any reincarnation of Vine would just be a TikTok knockoff. Like Reels. It probably wouldn't be that succesful though since the twitter crowd is mostly a bunch of crumudgeons who don't like creativity and/or anonymous trolls who don't want to put their face on the internet.

Musk yesterday tweeted a poll asking if he should "bring back Vine"...

Was this before or after he tweeted that made-up story from the fake newspaper about Paul Pelosi, the tweet that was taken down soon after?

I hope we can quickly get to the point where we remember that this guy talks a lot of BS because he wants the attention.
