Elon Musk Planning Vine Reboot After Twitter Acquisition

Well, he was backing out and Elon had a legit reason. Wanted to back off due to the concern about the bots. It also seems like he took a hefty amount of loan. Not all the cash came from his back account. So now he has no choice left but to generate money for the investors. For months after months, he was messing around, until Twitter slapped him with a lawsuit action.

He's the dog that caught the car. "I didn't expect this to happen. Now what?"

by the end of the year? He seems to take agile development to the next level
No, he's an idiot. He has no idea how anything works. In short he's a rich guy. Please don't equate wealth with intelligence. They rarely correlate.

Frankly, I think Musk has really stepped in it with the Twitter acquisition. He thinks because he knows how to tweet and he's super rich that he can make it successful. Twitter is a dog of a business. It basically exists to service its debt which he's now increased and taken personal responsibility for. Removing speech restrictions / moderation? Yeah, that'll drive away what few advertisers it still has. Bring back Vine? A great way to waste a bunch of money as it's very unlikely to be anything but a pale imitation of TikTok.

Better than even odds this bankrupts Musk IMO.

I was sad to see Vine go, but its return (and Elon-Twitter generally) has extreme "inmate running the asylum" energy.

Vine shutting down was a mystery; I had the impression it was doing very well, then Twitter pulled the plug and TikTok arrived to take its place 🤷🏻
A big oversight (and narrow-mindedness) on Twitter’s part at the time.

Wouldn't this be another money loss? Seriously. I don't know. Does TikTok make money? I thought YouTube lost money. I could be wrong.

Vine was cool but TikTok is where it’s at. They have dominated the market. Vine would not last. Better chances of rebooting MySpace.

Only because Twitter killed Vine. Vine was huge and Twitter stupidly decided to kill it off, giving Tik Tok a chance to take over.

Killing Vine was the most stupid tech decisions I have ever seen in my life.

Almost as stupid as Microsoft abandoning Myspace.

Huh? Microsoft would have first had to have something to do with Myspace in order to abandon it.
My bad. I was thinking of search.

Killing Vine wasn't the most stupid tech decision. Steve Ballmer's decisions on mobile and search were, in terms of potential revenue.
