Glad to hear that Apple came back to their senses. Supporting free speech for everyone is more important than making the elite comfortable.
Lol. You believe what Elon says? Unless Apple says they resumed 100% of advertising, I don't believe it. Elon cannot be trusted.

Running ads on Twitter shows that Apple supports a service that allows antisemitism, hate speech and election lies to spread worldwide. Well ok Apple we see you.

1. Apple contracting for merchandise assembled in China didn’t already do that?
2. Musk is improving the very Twitter platform Apple was running ads on long before he came on the scene.

Free speech means people can say whatever they want as long as they aren't doing something illegal.

Only people who have weak arguments can't stand free speech. Everyone else is mature enough to allow people to hold opinions without trying to use the threat of government violence to silence them.

I believe people are smart enough to make the right decisions for themselves. I believe in free speech for all.

Feel free to test this out by calling me an *******, I'm totally fine with that.

Here--if the speech is not illegal or defamatory, it should be free. If you disagree, that's fine--that just means you favor censorship. Now, you might only favor a little censorship for certain topics, but make no mistake--you are censorious.

I saw the picture he posted and I’m pretty sure I’m not allowed to describe it here, but it was clearly anti-Semitic. I didn’t see any comments he posted that would be considered that but perhaps I missed them.

I’m glad Ye put Musk in that position because it made him stand up and take action showing he’s capable of doing the right thing. This not only shows to people who are worried about this, but also to warn others that may be considering doing something similarly offensive.
Oh it was picture? Guess I definitely missed the details on it, then. Thanks

They were.

So antisemitic they forced Musk to quickly set aside all that yakkity yak about free speech absolutism.

Musk knows that having a platform for praise of Hitler and Holocaust denial is an advertising repellent, not an advertising magnet.
True 🤔 😂

So Elon either lied about

A. "Not caring about the finances" and prioritizing "free speech" above everything else.

B. Apple wanting to ban Twitter from the AppStore or making demands on moderation. We only have Elon's word for this. He never showed any documents that this was actually happening.

C. Apple never wanting to ban Twitter, halting advertising or making moderation demands. There was a misunderstanding and nothing more.

Again, we only have Elon's word for any of this. Tim Cook has not commented on any of this publicly.

Which begs the question -Was Apple truly never warning Musk of a Twitter ban and he just made it all up to further his "I'm one of you, the people, and the big corporations want to take away our freedom" narrative that he built is brand upon?

Or is this some sort of "the enemy of my enemy is a friend" situation where Tim Cook disregards Apple's own policies and lets Twitter stay on the AppStore in an effort dismantle the growing number of corporations teaming up to sue Apple over its AppStore fees and "monopolistic" policies?

Elon's free speech absolutism sounds revolutionary and is great for marketing and propagating the Elon myth. But, like everything Musk does, it's also for sale. And Apple are paying.

Yeah, if you Google kanye west twitter picture you’ll find the news story talking about it. I just don’t want to get on the wrong side of the mods for some silly reason and I’m not sure what the rules say about what you can describe or not so I’m just playing it safe 😂

I would not throw good hardware in the trash but future purchases would most certainly be effected.
No you should definitely burn all your Apple gadgets. Throw them off the roof. Punt them with steel toed boots across the room.

Really show that Tim Cook who’d boss.

Make sure to post the video on Tik Tok, too, so it will really make an impact.

🤣 I would really hope that you or anyone else are not so bothered by Apple advertising on Twitter that you would never buy Apple again. That would be silly.

A lot of assumptions to be had.
  • Elmo is telling the truth. (unlikely)
  • "Fully resumed" can mean [literally] anything Elmo wants it to mean. (fact)
  • Tim Cook agreed to something Elmo promised and is acting in good faith. (plausible)
  • Elmo agreed to something Tim Cook promised and is acting in [possibly] good faith. (likely)
  • Twitter is hemorrhaging money and Elmo told Tim Cook anything he wanted to hear in order to keep it on the App Store (highly likely)
  • Elmo is gaslighting the whole thing. (also very likely)
  • Apple has said absolutely nothing on the subject. (fact)
I'd put my chips on  giving Elmo a "good faith" assurance it will only do "a, b, and c" if/when Twitter does (or perhaps doesn't) do "x, y, and z."

 is a measure twice, cut once type of company; trust in that.

Can we believe Elon on this or anything else?

To the degree you can trust any CEO including Cook, Jobs, Zuckerberg, Winfrey, and Branson I suppose.

He said the Apple's advertising is resumed so other companies will restart their advertising hoping that Apple won't deny his statement.

Maybe he doesn’t need to hope. Maybe he has their commitment. If Apple want’s to comment they surely can as they’ve been given many opportunities.

Apple is bad if they don’t advertise on Twitter???
Advertising on Twitter is a must??

I truly fear for the future. It seems as if current generations are not being taught basic civics but are instead being indoctrinated into an ideology that is counter to our founding principles. If someone says something mean or that they disagree with it is called "hate speech," usually by people who, as you say, have weak arguments.

When I was a cadet in Officer Training School (a "few" years ago), I read a book written my a man, Jan Sejna, who was at the time the highest ranking communist to defect to the west. He basically lays out how the communists had (have) a long-term plan to subvert the west and turn us towards communism, a little at a time, through ideological subversion from within our own institutions (education, politics, media, entertainment, etc). Ex-KGB agent (defector) Yuri Bezmenov discusses this process (and interviews with him can be found on YouTube). Bezmenov concludes that "even when facts are presented minds will not change." When I look at the attitudes of young college students who are subjected daily to far left professors and I see how our media reports or doesn't report certain stories almost as if they are all sitting from a scripted narrative, I truly believe I am watching this plan being carried out right under our noses.

Ironically, many people on social media have no problem calling me all manner of horrible hateful names if I say something they disagree with, yet these same people wave their arms and complain about "hate speech."

$100M in advertising on Twitter alone is mind-boggling. Surely put that money to better use Tim - help the homeless, build some rehab and addictions centres, anything besides lining Musk's pockets.

Amazon has a similar $100m budget for advertising with Twitter but waiting for some security tweaks to be completed.
