Did Apple advertise their polishing cloth anywhere? Because I would never ever knowb about it, if site like macrumors or other wouldn't have done the "marketing" for Apple. ?‍♂️

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has encouraged customers to buy the "Cyberwhistle" for $50 instead of Apple's much-discussed Polishing Cloth.

The product page, which Musk shared on Twitter on Tuesday evening, offers a limited edition stainless steel whistle with the same distinctive design of the Tesla Cybertruck:In October, Apple released a Polishing Cloth for $19 which quickly became the subject of ridicule due to its presentation and pricing. Musk had already expressed amusement at the Apple Cloth after its release, and in a follow up tweet, he drew a comparison between Tesla's spoof product and Apple's Polishing Cloth.

The Tesla Cyberwhistle was available for $50 and is already sold out. Meanwhile, Apple's Polishing Cloth is heavily backordered, with new orders due to arrive as late as February 2022.

Looks like Cyber Whistle is delayed until 2027.

Why not buy both? The cloth would be perfect to polish the whistle. And if I'm being honest, that's not a bad looking whistle.
Yeah, he's a bit pompous. I guess having that much money and success can do that to you. But I also don't know enough about him or how he was prior to Tesla taking off.

This is correct. Tesla will focus on ramping up Model Y first before they focus on the Cybertruck. As a shareholder, I want them to put most of their focus on 1 thing at a time instead of spreading themselves too thin.
I expect each factory to focus on ramping one product at a time.

The Cybertruck will be produced at Austin, but I expect that factory will spend the next 12 months focused on ramping the Model Y - I don't expect them to have the bandwidth for the Cybertruck.

But I don't think the company as a whole is focused on one product at a time. I expect the Nevada factory will be focused on the Semi and the Fremont factory to focus on the Roadster. My most controversial thought is that Shanghai is gearing up to produce the cheaper vehicle in 2022.

He's actually quite humble. I mean look at me with just $10 million. I can't imagine what I'll become if I'm worth $300 billion.

Yeah those exploding rockets are going to kill some top astronauts this decade.
It’s a dangerous thing, yes some will die but all know it and think it’s worth the risk, it’s beyond fandom for me, i am thankful for SpaceX… manned space fight and exploration is a passion for me….. I’m also aware many don’t share my thoughts on the matter and that’s cool, luckily SpaceX is still a private company and Elon has taken steps to ensure success. His latest challenge is raptor development…but as he stated this morning, it is being fixed….. as far as another post above talking about texas and the environment, i think that environmental assessment is due in a day or two, I think it will give a green light but even if it does not it does not kill the program, oil rigs are being modified as we speak to launch starship if needed and if he had to he can still move operations to the cape

Titanium or GTFO.

Do you know how hard it is to train and replace astronauts?
SpaceX knows what a PR disaster they would have if a spaceship exploded and people died, so they have every incentive to ensure no one dies. Still, mistakes can happen. Those astronauts know and understand what the risks are.
Why do you Socialists always try to get in the way of 2 parties in a mutual agreement?

Seems like it's going to scratch your screen more than the cloth... ??‍♂️

might help fund that rocket company of his
Elon could certainly sell his stock in Tesla to help fund Starship but you will never see any business transactions by Tesla that benefit SpaceX, Shareholders would freak, SpaceX may go public one day to bring in the cash needed once trips to mars start to become a reality but Elon has avoided taking the company public simple because shareholders expect profit and currently billions are being spent with no return… Elon actually started Starlink to finance the Starship program but it’s a bit of a house of cards because he needs starship to become reliable for starlink to become profitable…. Which means for the next couple of years SpaceX will continue to invest billions without a return… the 3 billion NASA is giving him for the moon lander is just a drop in the bucket, it’s nice to have but has no affect on the overall program

I can’t speak to teslas customer service but you are correct the market has over valued… it really does not have much to do with the company itself though…. It’s just a goldrush/bubble think… we saw this movie before during the tech stock craze in the 90s

What's going on with EV, and to a lesser extent self-driving startup, company stocks does remind be of what happened in the 1990s and early 2000s with the dot coms. The question will become, which (if any) will end up like Amazon, Google, eBay, etc. and which (if any) will end up more like Netscape, AOL, Pets.com, etc.

On the flip side, the question will become, which of the existing major automakers like VW, Toyota, GM, etc. will maintain their strength or become even stronger and which (if any) will end up more like Nokia or BlackBerry did in the cell phone world.

All of this should start to become clearer over the next several years.

It has gotten a fair amount of attention on Apple-focused sites and various other sites, mostly because of its high price (for a "piece of cloth"), and being one of the most back-ordered Apple items. People have actually been selling these on places like eBay for 2 or more times retail value.

It's pretty clear that Tesla will become the world's most profitable and largest company this decade. No one will catch up to them.

The competition will be either bankrupt or breaking even, if they're lucky. Tesla will take 100% of the industry's profits.

Machines can be retrofitted and upgraded to come extremely close to the capabilities and efficiency of a new machine.

And that is supposed to be a new thing?

Has been that way for decades and with every year of usage machines get bit more out of date and bit more likely to break till the point when it's time fro replacement.

If you are the at the start of that cycle you have low running costs per unit but a lot of invested capital stuck in it.
At the end of the cycle your cost per unit is high but the machine is "free" (as in already paid of).
Nothing out of the order with the machines used to build the car parts of the Tesla.

As for batteries, all the current tech will have to be replaced before the turnover happens (as in PEV having >50% marketshare by volume) and noone knows who will come on top of that as noone knows for sure what the next big thing in battery will be.

It’s a guessing game for sure, I imagine many guessed wrong on yahoo and aol…. Even Amazon seemed a little far fetched to believe they would become the powerhouse they became…ebay turned out to be far less than predicted ….. but anyway I think Tesla will still be around, i can see Apple failing in the car market but that really depends on whether they pull the plug if it becomes a money pit or if they continue to throw money at it…. That decision will come post cook probably….. the thing to remember is competition in the electric car market has not really even started yet, I personally think Tesla currently has no competition… but that will change shortly

Imagine how many meme products big industry is going to make when the youtube generation is in charge of those companies. They don't need to fill a void in the market or even sold for very long, but if they are funny, they will sell out.

The crazy thing to me is that the expensive cloth and expensive whistle are both either sold out or on backorder!

Both Apple and Tesla need to stop sniping at each other and spend the time to fix their buggy software.
(EDIT: I guess technically Apple doesn't snipe at Tesla. Still, they have work to do.)

Except the polishing cloth is actually useful. I guess you could use the CyberWhistle to call for help when your Tesla goes dead? Either way, I don't give a single CyberF___...
