Serious question -- does the timing of this concert have any impact on the release of the iphone? At least in the UK?

It seems odd for the iphone to be released in the middle of their own festival - one will take attention away from the other. So I am wondering if they might release the phone (at least in UK) after the festival is done and use the festival as a marketing campaign to drum up interest.

If the rumours are right, they will announce the new iPhones on 7 Sep, so they should be out before 18 Sep?

Looks like the site and connected material might be unfinished. The 'Win Tickets' page is low res and the button links to a broken site.

I like how on the Apple website Chance the cRapper appears before Elton John but here on MR the post editor said screw that and Elton John became the first name again.

*ahh. the little things*

What is the point, Elton John is a legend, who the hell is Chance the Rapper?

Great! Would love to hear Britney playback in 5.1 surround.
True, I don't think anyone really knows how she sounds live, I don't think she ever sang a single note on stage; all pre recorded pre processed vocals. Her Vegas show is all dancing and special effects, but artists have to scale down those things in iTunes , so I wonder what she'll do

We all have to have open minds and take in all types of music. I'll wait until after this event to pass judgement and so should others.

Yeah, no ... I don't have to wait - TOTALLY dislike rap/hip-hop and you can put that trailer park girl in the same dislike category.

Rap/Hip-Hop (1 artist on the lineup) and Britney Spears make up only 20% of the total line-up.

Alicia Keys, Bastille, Calvin Harris, Elton John, Michael Bublé, OneRepublic, Robbie Williams and The 1975 are performing too and offer a wide variety of music.

I could understand your whining if it was 70% of 1 genre but it's clearly not.

Wow. Not my musical taste, but Elton John and Michael Buble are pretty big ticket. Surprised on both being here.
[doublepost=1472129044][/doublepost]For a split sec I thought it said Robin Williams. Now THAT would be innovation....Delorean, flux capacitor and all that.

Wow. Britney Spears hasn't been relevant for 15+ years.

Well she did just finish a huge multi-year Vegas residency and will headline the VMAs this year. She also has a new album coming out and was on Kimmel just a couple weeks ago. If that's "irrelevant" then where does that leave you?

Oh, Robbie, Robbie, we want you back!

Whatever we've said, whatever we've done we didn't mean it. We just want him back for good.

OneRepublic is at the top of their game right now. I believe Chance The Rapper is fairly well known with hip hop/rap fans, I've heard of him from non-music things he's done. And like people have said, Elton John and Britney Spears are "living legends" amongst their fans, and Sir Elton is practically British royalty, perfect for the London setting. Oh, and Michael Buble sells out huge venues EVERYWHERE. Alicia Keys also has a huge fan base. I think it's a pretty good lineup.

In a great place. Life is very, very good.

Has anyone heard songs from the new Britney album? I've never heard so much autotune in my life.

Only interested in Bastille and The 1975.

Elton like Apple is a hasbeen

I am surprised about the negative Elton John comments. I never saw him perform, but I bet it is good.

I am just curious, who would you like to see? Brittney? Chance the Raper? Just wondering.

I'd be interested in hearing the performances by Alicia Keys and Michael Bublé if I can remember to watch for them. Otherwise, there isn't anyone of moderate interest in the lineup announced for me.

looks like it'll be a huge event with some big titles.

unfortunately, like Apple's radio, it tends to focus more on pop and not up my alley. Have fun everyone :)
