They are uncomfortable.
Hmm. I wonder if death is uncomfortable.
They are uncomfortable.
Nice try guys, trying to get ZA to do the sensible thing. However, let's let evolution decide. Thin the herd!!!
They are uncomfortable, thats why I don't wear them unless I am on the highway. Ive been in two head ons and a back end accident also (passenger). No injuries, in fact it wasn't even that bad even though the cars were totaled.
Hmm. I wonder if death is uncomfortable.
Probably not. I'm not planning on dieing anytime soon though.
I was involved in a crash when I was 18. I was travelling along a road with a speed limit of 100km/h (60m/h) with my dad in the car. This road has crossroads. An old guy didn't look as he drove out from one of the crossroads. I didn't have time to take evasive action, and so I crashed into his drivers door.We were all wearing seatbelts.
During the crash, my knee must have hit the dash somewhere, so i got a compound fracture in my right knee. My dad's head hit the roof somewhere, so he got a minor laceration on his forehead. The guy driving got minor bruising to his hips. If the other guy wasn't wearing a seatbelt, I have no doubts that he would have died, despite only driving slowly.
The other guy was at fault in this incident, but imagine having to overcome the thought that you have been involved with the death of someone. I find that thought fairly uncomfortable.
I wish the government would figure this out.
I just hope you have health and car insurance. I know I don't want my tax dollars going towards fixing you up after doing something so stupid.

Car insurance yes, health no. Waste of money for someone in my situation.

Zombie, I find it odd that you seem more concerned about milk being sold in bags than you do your own safety.
I was like you when I was young and stupid. I didn't need a seatbelt. I'll be able to brace myself for the impact and other assorted, stupid 'reasoning'. Glad someone was able to get through to me to wear the damn things.
And what would "your situation" be??
Woof, Woof - Dawg![]()
I can't believe anyone wouldn't wear their seatbelt on a street or highway at any speed. It isn't all about your speed; you could easily be going 35 mph but be hit by another car traveling 70 mph. The risk simply isn't worth not wearing a seatbelt to be slightly more comfortable.
Personally, I find it awkward to be in a car and not have a seatbelt on.
Yeah, nothing could go wrong when all the cars involved in a wreck are only going 35.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joMK1WZjP7g
You pretty much just proved my point with that movie, I don't drive a 59 bellaire.
I think you yet again missed the point.....
Most wrecks happen around town and at very low speeds. They prevent injury in a wreck. I hope for idiots like yourself who do not wear seat belts that states change the laws that if some one hits you they have ZERO liability for any of your medical cost because you choose not to wear a seat belt which would of reduce injuries and besides that it is the law any how.
People like you force insurance rates to go higher because of higher medical cost for injury sustained.
The seat belts are "uncomfortable" is a load of crap. The only way I can see them be unconformable is if you are massively obsess and if that is the case then you have larger problems.
You have yet to come up with a good reason why you do not wear one. Clearly you have no problem wearing one on the highway which also tells me your unconformable excuse is a load of crap. Seat belts are designed in a way that they are not unconformable.
Also would like to point out if you are going 30 Mph and some one hits you at head on a 30 mph that basicly the same as you doing 60 MPH and slamming into a brick wall.
Tell you what, you do what you want, I do what I want. If you have problems paying your premiums go get a second job. Problem solved. The only claims I have ever filed was from hail damage, its not my fault that there are a lot of sue happy city folks.
Also for your last point, yes, most people who went to college took physics. thats fairly obvious. As I said I have been in 2 head on collisions, neither was as bad as some of these videos propagate. You also fail to realize that cars are designed for deterioration these days which lessons the impact of the "60 mph" collision.
Yes I know they are designed to crumple but figure out that you are coming to a dead stop with in what 3-4 ft from what ever speed you are at. Not going to help you out much.
I have to pay higher premiums because of idiots who do not wear seat belts. Because injuries sustain the person who hit the idoit not wearing their seat belt they are required to pay the cash for it. Maybe it is time insurance (health and auto) say no to paying it. You are 100% on your own due to the fact you choose not to wear basic equipment. Lower premiums for all.
btw check out this video at 40 km/h (25mph) well under you 35 mph limit for your selt belt. Watch the back passenger with no seat belt.
Oh and we are still waiting on your "excuse" for not wearing one. Clearly it is not unconformable because you have no problem wearing on on a highway which I might like to point out your risk of getting in a wreck that can cause serous injury is a hell of a lot lower.
