Completely unrelated: Did it sound like Dan had a cold while recording audio? His voice seemed super nasally and the breathing sounded slightly congested.
It also quickly tells me where the top of the screen is. No issue
So when you screen shot with the X, does the notch get included?
This is an excellent point. It’s no longer super clear where the North is, and the notch acts like a compass.
We see how Face ID is problematic in many cases. Touch ID has none of those issues.
Given that thought process, I doubt I would see as much vitriol over the subject that I do in the iPhone and Alternatives to IOS section of the forums.Given the question, I would imagine the feedback here will be largely positive - since it'll assuredly be self-selected towards individuals who purchased the phone, and people who are bothered by the notch won't be buying the X.
For me, the most controversial design decision is the removal of Touch ID.
We see how Face ID is problematic in many cases. Touch ID has none of those issues. I want an iPhone X with both Face ID and Touch ID.
Well, it houses a complicated set of sensors that aren't on those other phones, it's the reason why...I just have no understanding of why there needs to be a notch. I'm sure it's fine but I can't see the point when we know based on Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Note8, that it isn't necessary?
After using it for some days, FaceID has actually less issues than TouchID to me.
I can use gloves, I can unlock with wet hands, and swipe up is way faster than the home button.
