i just decided to keep. im never gonna game like that. and honestly, i need to break this habit of trying to buy and sell things. i love my high res screen and i've been wanting it for a really long time. hopefully im not making the wrong decision here.

you guys would actually sacrifice the high res screen?

most likely this will have to be my primary computer for the years to come (trying to break the habit of selling). With all the backlash about how bad the standard res was I was hoping you guys would say keep but im guessing the price advantage is too big to ignore in this case?

For some reason, I thought yours was a dual core, so part of the upgrade was going to a quad-core (actually, that's what I meant by "having your heart set" - going to quad).

Let's see if I have it right now: 2.0 to 2.2GHz, 256 to 1GB VRAM (similar GPU generation), hi-res to low, no AppleCare > AppleCare. Still seems like most of the difference is the AppleCare, and some performance improvement going to the 2.2.

If you make the trade, you can always sell the machine when you find you need a hi-res screen. ;) Then, possibly get a refreshed machine next year.

There seems to be very few downsides to trading...

the screen is a VERY big one though.

i value screen over both the graphics card and processor and applecare INDIVIDUALLY. its just when you compare the total package value, 1899 vs 2499 is quite a jump.

That's why the smiley in my last post - you want to keep the hi-res, IMO.

I see the value difference, but it doesn't matter if you end up with something you won't be as happy with.

urs has more custom features. keep it.

honestly are u gonna be doing anything idfferent on ur machine than the one that u could trade it for? specs dont mean **** if u cant take advantage of it and the baseline model u own is perfectly fine
