I only count 2? Battery and RAM, what's the third? I think the RAM is meant to be 1GB, not 512 mb.

Also, to be honest the 4S should win on battery life, Apple always does a great job there

Processor. It doesn't say "unknown" but rather "likely 1GHz".

Not saying their guesses are wrong but the chart is a little misleading.

lol we have this argument with macs over pcs
"i can buy a similar specced pc for half that price"..........

i paid £849 for my mbp 2010 c2d 13"
i work in IT, and get pc parts at cheap prices.
i knew i could of got an icore pc and laptop for the same price as my MBP!

but i didnt want a windows pc/laptop!
same as i dont want an android phone.
ios works for me, never had a crash/freeze/slowdown on my iphone 3gs thats what keeps me apple!

^ This. Even if the A5 is clocked slower than any other mobile processor iOS 5 will still provide the best mobile experience. That's what is important. Apple knows this.

Clock speed doesn't mean squat. The A5 pitted against the Galaxy S2 blew the Galaxy S2 out of the water. No comparison really. It got beat in just about every test.

Ipad 2 with the A5.

But the Galaxy S3 will beat both. So a Apple fail here.

Outdated only if you look at it from a pure hardware spec perspective (I'm not even going to talk about design, for which Apple is years ahead). As an iPhone user, you should know that an iPhone is much more than just the hardware.
yes talk about the design, like the magical antenna that will drop a call when you hold it normally, so they gave out free bumpers to make up for it. So why redesign it on the iphone4S? link. "Apple is years ahead" :D

Now only if the Galaxy s2 didn't feel like a piece of plastic crap.

Agreed.

You can't just compare numbers and declare a winner. You have to factor in the experience of using it, and I think Apple has that category in the bag. It's still the same great device, with better internals.

Sure, we're all a little disappointed, but by no means is this a bad phone.

I know it doesn't mean squat... that's essentially what I said. Clock speed doesn't matter, user experience does. IMHO this is where Apple still wins.

An internal non switchable battery will never win a battery I can swap out at any time.

Ah, I missed that somehow. I think it's still a handy chart even though it lists unknowns, which will probably be corrected once more is known. To be honest though, people shouldn't be buying a phone based on specs alone anyway, it's always important to look at real world performance, app stores, comfort, etc. Charts like this are really just informational supplements.

I get this is true for some people, but I still think those people are a minority. I've yet to meet anyone that carries around additional cell phone batteries.

Let me repharase my post. A little misleading. I know what you said. I am saying the Apple A5 blew the Galaxy S2 out of the water, not the way you thought. The A5 is superior. Even beats the Qualcomm 1.5Ghz dual core that isn't even out yet.

Spec wise the iphone 4s beats the competition right now. Aside from the screen size.

Go to the links, the A5 is superior.

Galaxy SII has much better design. It's slimmer, lighter, has much bigger screen and it's back side is plastic - not glass.

My fault - misread your post. The A5 is a beast, though.

Your kidding right? Plastic is better than metal and glass? Lol.

Yeah okay. Thinner. Not really. Overall the iphone 4s is still one of the thinnest phones out there. The Galaxy s2 is actually thicker at its thickest point.

To me it is. Glass is a terrible material for the body of a phone. It's too fragile.

Plastic is much more durable then glass. Although I would prefer some aluminum.

Of course plastic is better than glass for any mobile device back side. What's not clear about that? Have you seen tons of reports about broken iPhone 4 backs? Have you seen any such reports about Galaxy (or any plastic phone to that matter)? You might want to re-calibrate your "feelings". Plastic also makes Galaxy SII lighter than iPhone (even though it has much bigger screen).

fair point, but i def carry an extra around.

It's very convenient to have the extra battery + external charger. I can always switch to 100% at any time, and still be completely mobile.

Platform: IOS5 hands down
Processor: S2
Ram- Probably 1gb. Unknown so no fair way to judge
Storage- finally a 64gb happy?
Display- Personal preferance
Resoluton: iPhone
Display: iPhone (IMO)
TV-Out- What is the matter with the iPhone? 720p and wireless mirioring
Camera- Comparable
Front Camera-Droid
Video-Tie
Sim- Does it really matter?
Talk Time- Apple test batteries harder than most, Probably IPH4S
Media- IP4S
Weight- Droid
Battery-Apple likely allthough non removable
Dimensions- apple is thinner

I don't have to calibrate my feeling about anything, I know 'cheap' when I see it dropped my phone multiple times and never broke. That is what a phone case is for. I have a incipico feather case on the back and all is well. The Samsung is 'cheap' by comparison. And the 'thin' back feels cheap, I owned one trust me i know. It fell off and my dog got ahold of it and chewed it up.

The iphone is aluminum too, as the Galaxy S2 has none of. The Galaxy will never be mistaken for 'high quality build materials'.

Yeah high quality. ;)

How about this?

That's mainly the GPU, but I wouldn't be surprised if the CPU was at least on par with the S2.
