Platform: IOS5 hands down
Processor: S2
Ram- Probably 1gb. Unknown so no fair way to judge
Storage- finally a 64gb happy?
Display- Personal preferance
Resoluton: iPhone
Display: iPhone (IMO)
TV-Out- What is the matter with the iPhone? 720p and wireless mirioring
Camera- Comparable
Front Camera-Droid
Video-Tie
Sim- Does it really matter?
Talk Time- Apple test batteries harder than most, Probably IPH4S
Media- IP4S
Weight- Droid
Battery-Apple likely allthough non removable
Dimensions- apple is thinner
A few corrections.

Platform - mostly a matter of preference.
RAM - most likely 512MB (otherwise they would mention it today especially given how short they were on hardware upgrade list)
Storage - Android (32GB internal plus 64GB MicroSD card)

Talk Time: Apple neither manufactures the batteries nor tests them. It's a tie.

And you left out OLED, NFC, dual band WiFi, LTE, HSPA+ etc. for Android phones.

This sums it up even better:

iPad 2 and iPhone 4s have a dual core GPU... Smokes the Galaxy S II.

Most likely 1GB... iPad w/A4 has 256, iPhone 4 w/A4 has 512, iPad 2 w/A5 has 512, iPhone 4S w/A5 probably has 1GB.

With the addition of Siri, I bet it has 1GB.

How about this?

That's mainly the GPU, but I wouldn't be surprised if the CPU was at least on par with the S2.

click the links, look at the benchmarks for the CPU, beats the Galaxy S2 also. You actually have to click on the ipad review link and compare it to the Cpu for the galaxy S2.

don't be so lazy.

since when is the iPad a phone or the GS2 a tab???...face it apple have cocked right up with this....and this has only just been released....try your benchmarking against the Nexus or the SGS3,....

Except that's not the same A5. The one in iPhone 4S will be a different chip. Just check the photo of A5 chip shown at today's presentation. A5 in iPad is a huge chip that could not be used in the phones. We'll see what the iPhone 4 performance will look like. Besides, Samsung is announcing their newest phone in exactly one week.

A5 is in the iPad 2, A5 is in the iPhone 4S.

To me it is. Glass is a terrible material for the body of a phone. It's too fragile.

Use a case. I've had my incase snap case which is like .5mm thin damn near and my 4 is in pristine condition. I still feel that the 4 is better looking than any other smartphone out there. Since the hardware is the same and my 4 I can just update to iOS5 I see no reason to get the 4S. Event though every year I end up getting sucked into getting the newest iPhone, I will probably hold out happily until the 5.

But, the processor is going to be clocked down for the iPhone4S. Its not going to be the same as the iPad2. My guess is it will be on par with the SGS2.

I don't like cases, I'd rather just but something I like in the first place rather than something I don't like to protect something else I don't like. I know it's personal preference, but hey, it's how I feel.

(the glass back is not my only dislike about the phone anyway)

Even if it was clocked down... it will out perform the GS2. The iPad 2 has twice the frame rate of the GS2.

A5 smokes the Galaxy s2 hands down.

Different SGSII models actually have different processors. There is one model (T-Mobile?) which has 1.5 GHz CPU from TI. Also, Samsung is announcing new phone (Nexus Prime) in exactly one week. This one is also expected to have new CPU (1.5GHz)

Now only if the Galaxy s2 didn't feel like a piece of plastic crap.

You can always tape some lead weights on the back if weight make you feel better than performance!:p

You got to be gagging on the Apple koolaid!:p

the 4s wins hands down!

1-it just works
2-does not feel like a cheap toy

Probably will still use the Mali GPU. You can talk about CPU GHz all you want, but GPU is where it's at considering your looking to have a fast device for multimedia use.

Sorry, skimmed the Galaxy S2 review and didn't see the iPad anywhere besides that graph... Will check out the numbers from the iPad review shortly. Thanks :)

EDIT: Wow. 2x faster in the Sunspider benchmark, 20% faster in Rightmark, and the list goes on... I hope the iPhone chip is at least close to that :)

The only meaningful advantage the s2 has is it's processor, and as I've said before, being a faster clock speed doesn't make it better. It's already been shown that the iPad 2 is superior to the s2 in terms of processing power, and that's when it's pushing out a higher res image for the iPads larger screen.

Make no mistake, the iPhone 4s has the superior processor

As much as I'd like to agree with you and that picture, especially since I have the Galaxy S II, iOS is still a more stable and fluid OS. And the SII feels cheap, not flimsy, but the plastic doesn't give off a premium feel. Also, even though it has a very powerful processor, it still doesn't feel as fluid when web browsing and scrolling in general, but I think this is more of a "problem" with Android in general.

I've seen a few comments like yours today. I just sold my iPhone 4 over the weekend and picked up a Galaxy S II 2 days ago. While it's not a glass sandwich wrapped in stainless steel, it's far from feeling cheap. Most of us have a case on our phones and just interact with the screen anyway, so it's a non-issue for me. Also, I don't see any issue with web browsing and scrolling being less "fluid". I'm brand new to Android, but this phone is buttery smooth and lightening fast so far. The UI is far more responsive than my iPhone was, I'm sure due to the processor. And IMHO the screen blows away the iPhone's, even though technically the resolution is lower.

I'm only on my second day, but I don't have any regrets yet.

It's a little bewildering trying to find my way around, but I'm digging this phone so far.
