Reminds me of Las Vegas and its 20 billion escalators. Ugh!! I have a phobia of stairs and escalators, so needless to say, I was miserable and opted for the elevators every time, which drove my friends crazy. I'm glad to know this about Paris now.

That's an odd phobia. Paris has a lot of stairs and a serious lack of escalators and elevators. I managed to hurt an old knee injury and it was pretty uncomfortable getting around at times. I very much enjoyed Paris in spite of it though.

Not really: more healthy, more natural and far less likely to catch anybody else's grossness.

Certain outfits would make that quite a precarious endeavour. My backside never touches any toilet seat anyway but I'd rather be squatting above something a few inches away than something in the ground like that.

That is a deluxe version! ;)

This is deluxe also.

I remember just a wall and a floor trough, with the sprinkler pipe above, somewhere in Europe.

Very minimalist and functional. :)

A sprinkler pipe?! Luxury!

Bootham.jpg

A picture I took in the men's toilets in the away end at York City's Bootham Crescent a couple of years ago (long story, don't ask). At least they'd nailed up a bit of perspex on that visit so you weren't exposed to the elements as per previously.

Salubrious.

Fun Fact: The cool music used as theme tune for 'The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy' wasn't specifically written for the show...

It's actually a segment of a prog-rock piece by The Eagles; the 19 minute 'Journey of the Sorcerer'.

Linky

It's about the only decent thing they wrote!

I'm asking!

At least here you'd have someone to talk to.

And a sponge on a stick to wipe clean… which was also shared. :p

Reminds me of my school days. None of those namby pamby little individual porcelain bowls, just stand and share the spray around your feet.

I'm asking!
So am I.
A camera in a public convenience? Tsk Tsk. ;)

Are you guys still talking about the many different ways people poop? I regret stating my fact. :D:p

Pooping: right up there in conversation with bacon!

India has more mobile phones than toilets
India's mobile subscribers totalled 563.73 million at the last count, enough to serve nearly half of the country's 1.2 billion population.

But just 366 million people - around a third of the population - had access to proper sanitation in 2008, said the study published by the United Nations (2010)

1. Every 60,000,000 years, the moon moves 1,000 miles away from the Earth. Not all at once, of course.

2. This is what the Earth will look like in 100,000,000 years.

Mouse might actually have to learn how to swim.
