Ignorance...

The iPad version's textures look more blurry because it's a higher resolution. Like running a VHS movie on a 10 inch tv vs. 20 inch tv. The same texture resolution on both devices.

Got anything to back this up? I disagree with you, FYI. :)
Proof?

There's no question in my mind that Apple crippled the iPad, whether intentionally or otherwise. I'd say "intentionally" since the iPad didn't come out too long before the iPhone 4 leak.., so Apple had to have known.
The announcement date when Steve stands up and commits to specs and ship date is the point at which specs need to be frozen. The iPad was announced on 27th Jan and the iPhone 4 on 7th June. That's a 4.5 month gap and more than enough time for it have been uneconomical to integrate 512MB into the A4 in time for the iPad but possible to do it by the time they had to freeze the specs for the iPhone 4. The iPad was also Apple's very first in-house project to glue all this stuff together so it's understandable that they might not have wanted to push the boundaries too far on the first attempt.

With Apple's secrecy there's no way either of us can claim to be right. You say intentionally, I say it was down to what technology was affordable and prudent in manufacturing terms at the time. We'll just have to agree to differ but there are plausible alternatives to this "intentionally crippled" theory.

Epic Citadel looks amazing. I'm looking forward to the real games that presumeably will follow.

They should also consider using this quality of graphics in Tower Defense games, which are very well suited for the iPad, and not just focus on first-person shooters or first-person adventures, which does not exactly suit the device well, particularly on the controls.
