hahaha I don't think Apple is going to let Epic win that easily. They have no obligation to approve the US Store game.

Or, they can simply change how they charge for hosting subscription and paid apps. No one has said Apple must host apps for free.

I mean, if Apple previously said they would accept the app from Epic European account, they should.
If they didn’t, and the judge already said that Apple has the right to remove their developer account on the basis of breach of terms of service - I think Apple used the wrong excuse here in their letter to Epic.
Just tell them they are not permitted in the US, and their developer account in Europe is for such countries and their laws.

So tired of hearing about this. Do people even still play Fortnite or have they moved on to the newest shooter game that slaughters people and promotes violence?

I think Apple will soon discover they have an obligation when a court orders them to do so, but that being petty will have a cost. This attitude did not help in the past and has caused much more damage than the initial ask, this will be no different.

Apple is definitely not in the wrong here. They have every reason and right to never let this particular developer on their platform for breaking the terms and conditions that they agreed to. Big or small, rules apply to all (in this case).
And why is that because said developer took them to court to get better terms and as a consequence of that payment links are no allowed on the USA App Store
Unless you think that individuals don’t have the right to try & get better terms?

Same rules apply to everyone. Sweeney wants an exception and he's not getting it, and if it's not for being a total jerk in all this, it's because he purposely broke the rules that he agreed to on a platform that helped him significantly gain popularity. If you come to my house and I tell you not to walk in shoes, and you still walk in shoes and I kick you out and tell you to never come back, and you keep on coming back and I keep telling you you aren't welcome here, am I the problem? No, it's you. You can bend backwards as much as you want, I don't want you here. Makes sense, no?
No it does not make sense. Apple is not a house, it’s a company. And company have to comply with strict laws and regulations. They can’t make up rules and ban those who do not follow them.

Epic could have taken them to court without breaking the rules. Had they done so, Apple wouldn’t have a leg to stand on to block Epic.

However, Epic did break the rules.

And that’s when also in the us apple will be force to allow third party stores like if already is the case in the eu. If Apple charges a price to host apps it will not be allowed to block other companies from doing that for free or a lower fee

Not in the USA
That is why Spotify took the different approach in the EU

I doubt it. Most people will just see their buying experience get worse and less convenient.
Why would the buying experience get worse when purchasing an iPhone because of payment links
When you could also use IAP as someone said before as it’s more convenient

As bad as it looks I kinda don’t feel bad for epic. I mean they caused this in the first place by making the app appear to follow guidelines and then switch to their own payment processor prior to all this. So if I were in apples shoes I wouldn’t trust them one bit. Plus Tim Sweeney is a shady, whiney, and annoying person. I really don’t like epic anymore and the **** he pulls and bs he spews really doesn’t help.

Epic made a contract with Apple eons ago, by placing an App on the App store. Now Sweeny isn't happy with the terms of that contract Epic willingly entered into, he wants it all his own way, whilst also setting up his own App Store and levying a fee for it too! Hypocrisy at its finest.
Epic USA made that contract, the submitting party is Epic Sweeden (or something like that). It's a fine line, but as I've pointed out in other threads, Apple absolutely plays game using regions and subsidiaries, so it's rather hypocritical to not let Epic do the same.

Oh, Tim Sweeney, still throwing tantrums like a petulant teen? The judge already gave Apple the green light to yeet Fortnite from the App Store. I was happily indifferent to Epic and its battle-royale cash cow, but now? Yawn. Take the L, Tim S., and stop embarrassing yourself.

Go Tim Apple, may the Schwartz be with you!
