Prices for goods and services in an international space, have always been subject to exchange rates of major currencies fluctuating one way or another.

I’m not worried about a bit higher prices for apps or a consumer good.

The extremely high cost of gasoline, diesel, home heating oil, propane / gas and home electricity is what is going to ruin people’s lives …

People can try to do a bit more with less, postpone some purchases if possible, drive less, set the thermostat lower (heat) or higher (cooling) … but costs are still extremely and unaffordably high.

It's called inflation mr Sweeney Todd. Since 2007 99 cents is now worth more than $1.40. So with these new prices apps are actually cheaper now than they were in 2007 when the iPhone launched. The App Store actually launched 2008, so inflation since then means 99 cents is now worth $1.36. Raising the prices helps developers more than Apple, because developers get 70% cut of their app sales, Apple only gets 30. Of course if you can't or refuse to sell your app on the App Store then you get 0% and Apple gets 0%, so no one wins there.
Stop with your logic and reason. They have no place on the internet! Haha.

Thank you. Sick of people comparing prices of apps and devices we don't even need to actual needs.

Tim Sweeney is like Kardashians; they do whatever they can to get back to the front page news even though no one wants to hear from them. The only difference here is that Kardashians do at least understand the basics of running a successful business - Timmy doesn't.

In public he’s whining about the he increases because it supports his anti-app store narrative but in private he’s happily and sociopathicly cashing the increased royalty checks coming from Apple.

I have ZERO interest in side loading. If side loading ever becomes a thing, I would like a setting to disable/prevent it under iPhone Settings. I do not feel like I am being forced to pay Apple's tax and I do not have any assurance that apps would cost one bit less if Apple received a lower fee or no fee for their work.

Having said all that, I suppose the App Store is an unregulated monopoly. Is it fair? I'm not sure that App Store pricing is fair. The United States legal system seems to be inclined to let Apple sort it out. But I assume sooner or later another country will force more perceived fairness.

Yes, but Android also allows side-loading - supposedly what Sweeney wants - and yet Epic still sued Google.

Epic wants all the benefits of the App Store and Play Store without having to pay for it.

Ah yes. Sideloading. I remember when Epic went sideloading-only for Fortnite on Android.

But it didn't work out. So they came crawling back to the Google Play Store.

Then they eventually sued Google. Nice.

You're right... they want all the benefits of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store... but they don't want to pay any fees required.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And when the apple car comes out, only apple can sell tires for it?
That’s nonsense. Plenty of third-party companies integrate with Apple’s products. Apple continues to push all their platforms and technology forward. Everything, except the iPhone, AirPods and random accessories, work with USB-C.

I’d even wager that Apple was just waiting for the EU to force the port change on the iPhone so they wouldn’t get the inevitable blowback from consumers when they can’t use Lightning anymore.

If devs got together and pulled from the Apple Store, guess what, Apple would do something about it.

Epic CEO should understand that a small business can pay upwards of $150 to $250 per ad click on Google Search for a popular search term. We can all scream that’s not fair. But if you want to be seen by the largest players, you have to pay to play.

only 30% lmao, if an app makes 1m apple takes 300k.
