wow, and you know more then 1/2 those people are not going to get anything. That person that recorded that video should record the chaos when they get the word that there all sold out lol

Yeah but the store's stock levels?

The Sydney Apple Store is huge (3 levels). They will have plenty in stock. If the past is any indication, everyone in that line will get an iPhone.

From past releases, even if you joined the queue midway through the day, you would still get an iPhone. I left work early for the iPhone 4 and joined the queue at around 4pm to try my luck and managed to get my iPhone at around 6pm.

I guarantee you most of those phones will end up in China where a basic 16G 6 is going for over $2k USD at the moment.

I don't usually hang at George St. when I'm in Sydney, but isn't this area where the hookers work or has Sydney cleaned this place up? I can't believe Apple would have a store at this location. I see them more in Darling Harbour, The Queen Victoria Bldg., The Rocks, or Circular Quay.

You can be excused given you don't live in Sydney, but where Apple is located is a premium location. It is across the road from Louis Vuitton, close to Tag Heur, Mont Blanc, Bulgari, Tiffanys etc. It is also a 2 minute walk from the Queen Victoria Building and 1km from the Rocks.

This part of George Street has never been run down and needed 'cleaning up'. You are probably thinking of Kings Cross.

Are you sure that was a line in China? I think I spotted about two non-asians in that line.

LOL!!! OMG! You're right, I was thinking of Kings Cross. Like I said, I never go to that part of your city. I'm usually at the areas I mentioned.

Of course it would be on George St., the main drag. Is the Apple Store near the Louis Vuitton where the Duty Free Store is at near the Rocks. George St. goes all the way down there. I usually hike down Pitt St. to Circular Quay, then up George St. to return back.

an edited version of this video should be used as an Apple ad to kind of counterbalance all the 'attack ads' by Samsung and Google etc... :p

No, the Apple Store is approximately halfway between Martin Place and the QVB.

Just walked past this morning, and filmed the queue:

Funny, but most of those people don't even look Australian.

That looks like it was filmed in China. But I also realize iPhone 6 isn't available in China, so I guess that makes sense. That's crazy to see. It looked like more than 500 people, but I have no clue.

Sydney you say? I could have sworn that was somewhere in china. So how many are scalpels???

Ahhh...the Golden Mile is burnt into someone's memory, it seems :p

What a crazy world it is when the Chinese make the iPhones, then have all their friends and relatives across the globe stand in line to buy them and ship them back to China.

The carbon footprint of just one of these China-to-China round trip phones must be massive.
