u may as well move to the amish people if u are so afraid of technology especially living in the US
Well no, but google don't hide the fact they make all their money from mining your habit and data.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence that that video "leaked" out. Perfect opportunity for him to take a cheap shot at Apple.
And I too want to know if the app has even been submitted.
Do you have examples where they've actually done this? There are certainly plenty of examples of Apps that compete with Apples that have been approved and are in the App Store. So I guess my real question is, is this a real or imagined "problem"?
thats what apples marketing department wants u to think.

What does Google's marketing department want me to think?
That's after 16 months of App Store 'limbo'. Apple can just sit on apps as long as they want. There was nothing wrong with it, they just didn't approve it for over a year.
How is it spyware if you have to not only download it - but agree to the service terms? Silly comment.
Any interest I had in Google Now has now vanished due to this ridiculous statement by Schmidt.
If Apple Maps was even close to functioning properly they wouldnt have allowed Google Maps in. They received a firestorm of negative publicity that forced their hand.
Google Voice.
Bottom line is they approved it and have subsequently approved every other app submitted by Google as far as i know. The most recent being Maps.
I suspect it hasn't. This leak seems like it might have been a stunt to see if anyone on iOS has any interest. Then they can let folks think the issue is Apple while they actually build the thing
Source for that?
Google Voice at one point. It replaced the dialer and used private APIs originally.
Because apple maps suck and they needed Google to pull their butt out of the fire.

Last week, Google apparently accidentally leaked a promotional video revealing that its Google Now app will be coming to iOS. Google Now is currently an Android-only app designed to automatically integrate relevant bits of information such as weather, traffic, appointments, and more into users' lives. The video was quickly removed, but Google had not issued a statement on its appearance.
iPhone Hacks now points to a Tweet from Techmeme editor Mahendra Palsule noting that Google Chairman Eric Schmidt was asked about Google Now coming to iOS at the company's Big Tent event in India today. According to the report, Schmidt suggested that whether or not Google Now comes to the App Store is currently up to Apple's reviewers. The exchange between Schmidt and The Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger appears nearly 18 minutes into the interview (via TechCrunch):Apple and Google obviously have had a contentious relationship as competition between iOS and Android has intensified in recent years. While Apple has generally approved Google's apps submitted to the App Store, there have in some cases been significant delays, as seen with Google Voice remaining in limbo for over a year before finally receiving approval.

Schmidt made this comment not as a form of information, but as an advertisement.
"Oh, Apple is so evil, they won't approve our apps - come to Android, you can have any app you want over here!"
And then it's also a form of making sure that Apple will approve the app, because if they didn't - they would look evil and anti-competetive.

Fun fact: 125 million people on Android are able to use Google Now - the day they release Google Now for iOS, suddenly there will be 450 million people able to use Google Now.
Google should release software for iOS first - like every other company already does it^^
Tell it to the software censors at the iStore. When Apple stops censoring software from Google, then Google will stop complaining about it. Until then, their complaints are legit.
So Google's Chief Theft Officer speaks again - whatever he says is irrelevant anyway. "Google Now"? I'll pass, thanks.
Voice was yanked because it violated the terms. And, many believed that apple's exclusive provider, Att, was pretty adamant about apple rejecting the app due to distribution agreements. Infact, even wired.com predicted google voice would be rejected prior to the actual rejection. Google knows the rules and it is pretty pathetic to know the rules and then get mad when something happens because you don't follow them.
And remember - google has done this exact same thing in their own app store: http://androidcommunity.com/android-tethering-apps-pulled-from-market-20090331/
Contrived controversy. Just Eric being his usual "charming" self.
What did Eric Schmidt steal exactly?
