Well…

Call Apple and they will give you a credit for it. I got a $50 credit (got family pack).

Seems everyone here in SD got screwed by more than the fires this week... :(

if you could tell us how to get the credit i would be happy to get it. I sat home all day waiting for it. Called up FedX and they told me they had complications and that i the plane was somewhere in ontario, canada. Pft whatever. I decided to take it into my own hands. Went down to the UTC mall in SD and bought another one so i could have it tonight, then when i get the package i'll bring it back unopened with the receipt and get my money back.

There's ways around everything if you are willing to work for it :). Maybe now that i have already bought something i wont feel like i spent the money and i'll just buy an itouch when i'm there… yes i always find the bright side of everything and i never give up on my apple. Plus i got the T-shirt that i so wanted, sized and everything :)

saturday and still no LEOPARD

after all the explanations of yesterday, still no LEOPARD. maybe monday now. next time, i'll not order online anything from apple if the carrier can't handle and live up to the delivery. I can understand them being overwhelmed, but when they tell me that they attempted delivery and I was waiting all day, that's when my patience ends. DHL for all my overnight stuff from now on. My friends were right FEDEX has gone way, way, way down.

1. Apple did not delay package delivery today.
2. When Leopard was distributed from FedEx's regional hubs to our local sort facilities, drivers started complaining because of the amount of Priority Overnight packages.
3. Local sort facilities then complained to FedEx's regional hubs because of the lack of warning.
4. FedEx Corporate called Apple and requested additional allotment time for delivery.
5. Apple complied, as long as deliveries were made today.

thats about right. i'd say its more or less a bit of being underprepared on FedEx's part. with a pre-order this big Apple surely worked out a deal with them beforehand. as i said before i don't know why they didn't have more people scheduled for delivery duties this morning.

i'm not sure which arm of FedEx was handling this. the 'ground' service which is the green and purple trucks, or the 'air' service which is the orange and purple trucks.

i work in a warehouse and the ground stuff always gets here earlier than the air.:confused:

they're a pretty disjoined company if you ask me, but they're better than UPS in some cases, such as shipping expensive/heavy things like computers, other than that UPS is more reliable for on-time deliveries imo.

i certainly wouldn't be blaming apple on this one.

So FedEx seems to be backing away from their initial claim that Apple made them postpone deliveries. Now, according to what they say are "notes from Apple," Apple and their distributor Ingram Micro did not deliver the shipments soon enough for FedEx to deliver on Friday. But this doesn't explain why they listed the packages as "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" early Friday morning and you can't get an explanation from them about that
