EST US - FedEx Delivery Exception

Sweet, I am refreshing the tracking page like it has gone out of style
. Hopefully my delivery time will update itself. I now am attemtping to get my old neighbor to buy a mac .So close! On the FedEx tracking sight does it say yours went through the Dulles sorting facility? (Mine does). My package went through sorting at 5:45am and has been on a truck "out for delivery" from Alexandria since 8:40am. My estimated delivery time hasn't been changed from 12pm.

If it makes you feel any better, mine was changed to "delivery exception" with a new date of Monday at 10:30 am, but it came about an hour after that message.
So there's hope...Hey the same thing happened to me. When I called and asked for a supervisor they said he would try to have it sent out today for a Saturday delivery, but couldn't promise that. I had to pay a 2nd time for Leopard (but not the Saturday delivery) and I'll get my refund when I send back my first copy of Leopard (to arrive on 11/1!!!). I'm hating apple today too, but if i can get it tomorrow morning i'll be fine. If it doesn't ship again today for Saturday delivery I'm going to call again and tell them to take it back.
No, mine never got to fed ex. I called again, and they cancelled my order.

i just called fedex, they are delayed because of the SoCal fires.
i live in so cal. and they are really behind on delivering packages, apple isnt trying to push delivery back so you get it closer to 6pm. they said i can go pick it up later if i would like too.

I did have a release auth form taped to the door, but that was before I was told signatures were waived.

It's still listed as in Indianapolis...as it has been since 2am this morning. I called them up and asked exactly where the package is at the moment and they keep telling me "it's being tracked". Okay, that's not a location...WHERE is it in the world? Again, she just keep telling me "it's being tracked". Is it missing I ask? "No, it's not missing, it's being tracked".
No lie, this woman at FedEx tells me 5 times that "it's being tracked" and never did tell me anything more than what I was getting from their website package tracker. It's like she's just reading the same thing and isn't privy to any other information other than what the public is seeing.
I doubt I'll get it anytime soon. It must have been one of those shipments that "fell off the back of the truck". Right now the Indianapolis Mob is probably selling it on the street for 20 bucks.

I just re-checked Fed-Ex, they dropped it off. Now I have to wait to get home to install it. Don't like the fact that I wasted a morning of vacation to personally get it only to find that it got delayed.

I said no, I'm in Northern California and it is a beautiful day here, and the tracking indicates the package is in the area. The rep then called the local facility and was told that the package is on the truck and that they will ask the driver to deliver it as soon as possible.
The driver told me that Fedex got Apple to let them change to delivery by 4:30 pm due to the volume of packages.
Now the question is, do I go over to the Apple store at 6 pm to get a t-shirt?

my status was even listed at 9am as "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". But around 10am it changed to the exception crap.

I called Fed Ex. She said that Apple had given them a notice that all of these packages MUST be delivered on the 26th. She told me it would be there today. She took my name and phone number and said that the station would call me.
I asked her point blank if this was Apple's doing. Was something happening to keep me from receiving it before 6? I patiently explained about the 6pm release time. She said she didn't know anything about it.
She said that if it didn't come today, it would come on Monday.

i beg to differ, if you check the front page at apple.com you will see that it dosent get released for another 2 hours and 48 minutes

I will be leaving work to pick it up from the local facility in a little bit.
I was getting frustrated too because my delivery was supposed to be by 1200 and FedEx has traditionally showed up at around 1030. My wife just left to GA for some Army training and took the printer with her so I couldn't print out the pre-sign sheet and had to miss two classes hoping it would show up. I had a mid-term at 1400 and the damn thing still didn't show up and I had to go to class.
While walking to class I was going down the main street and saw the FedEx truck. I asked him if he happened to deliver to my subdivision and he asked me what my address was. I told him and he said that he had my package and that ironically enough it was put on his truck by mistake and was supposed to be on another one! I asked if it would be alright if I signed for it there on the street because I didn't think I would be home in time to make the delivery and he let me sign for it and will now be installing it once I press "submit reply".

Mine just arrived! Was suppose to be here at 10:30AM but I had the delivery exception too. Going to install now.
Somehow, my package is back in Memphis (hopefully a mistake)
Like many people who have posted, I was upset that I didn't see mine get delivered this morning--but was willing to wait till this afternoon.
Now, however, FedEx is randomly showing my package in Memphis, TN, when this morning it was "Out for delivery" in Menlo Park, CA. Is anybody else getting this? I'm hoping this is just a weird error. It still says expected delivery is today by 5pm.

Just got mine. I had a "delivery exception" too - I was starting to worry that I wouldn't get it today. The driver actually asked me what it was - he said they had been absolutely inundated with tons of these little boxes from Apple and had gotten permission from them to push back delivery if they couldn't get them all delivered today. He seemed a little frazzled. (And this is in a sleepy little town on the coast of Maine.) So I guess it's not Apple's fault, after all. Leopard's just too popular.
