Well, at least Oppo thinks it’s too thick. Please explain why we would need a better port? What is missing from USB-C?
Yibao said that the Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest folding flagship phone. Codenamed Haiyan, he went on to say that they could make the phone even thinner but were limited by the thickness of the USB-C port.
Google initiated Android to Mac transfer software back in 2013, with Android File Transfer App, to state the EU took the initiate with iOS - Android, is somewhat misleading. As there has been for a number of years, work by both platforms, to allow for users of one system, to buy the other's device and easily transfer their data. Ultimately what this will do, will be to stop the two major phone os's fighting over new users, and allow an easy transition. The EU took the initiative in creating iOS-Android transfer software!
be careful for what you wish for😕I am not sure how this is any better for developers. Most data is already synced via the cloud, and the biggest issue stopping developers from bringing their apps to Android is that there just isn't much money to be made in the space.
Maybe the EU should go one step further, and ban any iOS app in their market which doesn't have an Android equivalent (and vice versa), if they really want to push for better inter-operability between the two platforms. 😏
Figure 8 is an IEC connector, and both those and the barrel connectors have been international standards for many decades. Some come with figure of 8 designs, or one of 8 pin diameter designs, or the IEC style plug.
How is it not capitalism in its purest form? Let's see ...forced government regulation, not a free market, restraints forced by regulation, indirect subsidies. The EU regulators have no idea what capitalism in its"purest form" is.How is forcing companies to be more compatible stifling economic growth?
Instead of being able to lock customers in, they have to really compete in the marketplace. How is that not capitalism in its purest form?
I don't think you understand the causes of lopsided wealth accumulation or potential solutions. The DMA does nothing to address those issues as it is not really their business or mission .Nah. More power to the EU. That "economic growth" never seems to benefit the average Joe, just the 1% who ride roughshod over anyone who stands in their way.
Which I would be totally fine with - didn’t have a single issue with my lightning cables throughout the years, but now my family doesn’t charge with the same plugs any more and I have not really found a ton of benifit from swapping to USB C on my iPhoneAnd rightfully so.
Less barriers are always beneficial for customers. Otherwise, we'd still be using Lightning instead of USB-C.
Be careful about what you read “somewhere”. Not everything written is true. What you wrote certainly isn’t. Have you ever visited any places in Europe?I read somewhere
Let the consumer decide. So you have a problem when your governemnt can access your phone, but you have no problem with China accessing your phone.
Did I get this right?
Of course it's true. EU doesn't tax European tech companies, so that amounts to 0 EUR. EU places exorbitant fines on American companies of X billion EUR. So, yes it's certainly more.Be careful about what you read “somewhere”. Not everything written is true. What you wrote certainly isn’t. Have you ever visited any places in Europe?
Best agreed estimates is that UK growth is down by £110bn per annum as a result of leaving. The world would be better off if the EU went the way of the dodo. The EU is stifling economic growth and the European Commission’s “solution” is to try to export its regulatory regime worldwide to bring everyone else down to their level.
The EU is like the USA at federal level, except it can’t tax citizens.I read somewhere that EU fines against US tech companies are higher than their total tax revenue of their own tech companies. Perhaps that's the main reason for this bloated bureaucracy. That's the state of the EU. And it's only going to get worse. They're an outdated and old economy, stuck in their old ways and unable to keep up with competitors who have long since overtaken them without them even realizing it. The economic situation in Germany is currently bad, and we will see german car manufacturers going out of business one by one within the next decade. If Germany fails, the EU will be in trouble.
They have, you just didn’t bother to checkI have many, current and relevant products in my home, that use USB-A, Micro USB, and many proprietary connections at device input, yet I don’t see the EU trying to standardise those.
Sounds like the US tariffs to me... You are opposed to them too?.forced government regulation, not a free market, restraints forced by regulation
