Now being quoted June 16th for dispatch. Ordered May 5th with and original estimated ship date of May 24th! Then pushed back to June 2nd, June 9, and now June 16  We'll see. Ended up being the full 6 weeks wait anyway.

21:45 BST - UPS11 has just touched down in Cologne:

Still no Warsaw departure scan... Are our MacBooks having a Polish stop over?

Update: Phew, they are in Cologne:

Now, how long will they take to clear customs and when is the next flight to the UK (East Midlands)?

After a busy day yesterday (flying from Shanghai to Cologne via Korea and Kazakhstan), things have been quiet today:
Koeln, Germany 12/06/2015 8:12 Departure Scan
12/06/2015 2:14 Import Scan
I suspect our MacBooks are in the UK now but the tracking hasn't been updated yet. My UPS deliveries are usually mid-morning, so I don't think mine will be here today.

Ordered my 1.3 SB 512 + AV adapter on May 29th
Payment via BT cleared today
Status: Processing Items
Delivers: 08 July, 2015 - 21 July, 2015
Country: Italy

Today it changed to "Preparing for Shipment" after just 5 days from order confirmation.... Do you guys think it's normal? Should it shipped within the next 24 hours now?

Very bad news. I was forced to cancel my order with Dustin (3rd party distributor in Sweden) today as the order was pushed back yet again until the 26th of June, and I leave for San Diego for the Summer on the 24th.

I placed an order for the same SG 1.3/512 model with a Swedish keyboard this morning in the U.S. Apple Store with an estimated delivery date of July 10-17.

My original order with Dustin would have been a total wait of 52 days having ordered on the 5th of May, that is more than 7 weeks.

Now I will have been waiting 66-73 days, or 9-10 weeks to get my hands on the SG CTO model.

That is the worst I have ever had it with a new Apple product, and I have had most of them since 2011 :( (except Apple Watch)

this is not apple's fault. dustiin is the problem here!
you should have ordered directly at apple....

Yeah, I know! My bad, like I said, original estimate was 2 weeks for delivery, so I made the assumption that they actually did have those coming in within that timeframe, ie already ordered from Apple.

I actually laughed a little bit when the guy on the phone with me from Dustin laid it solely on Apple, saying that they have been hard done by them because they are prioritising direct consumer orders before them, so they never actually knew when they would be getting new inventory.

Obviously just frustrated as I have been waiting 5 weeks already and have another 3-4 to look forward to, unless Apple fulfill my order earlier, which, as we know is always possible, now that I am purchasing in the US...

But Dustin told you the truth.
They did order a bunch of MB's on launch day and all dates are ETA for delivery, given from Apple.
We can just wait...

I received the shipment emails within the next 24 hours, on Saturday morning. Now I have a tracking number but I don't know how to track it since I think it's an internal tracking number because it is said that the 2 products will be merged into one single shipment.

Well it is on its way! Very nice if you get it early next week. Would have to be one the fastest deliveries yet for the 1.3 model!

Yes I realized that! However I have a combined shipment and I don't know how to track since the tracking reference given is an Internal number. Shipment is schedule to be delivered on the 24th...
The status now is:
Status In Transit to Customer- Shipment on Schedule 15 Jun
Est. Delivery June 24, 2015

Hopefully I will know when they merge the 2 products and receive the tracking number for the final shipment. However if I do get it by the 24th it would be over 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Shipping was meant to be 8-21 July!

Received mine too and typing this on it. I'm surprised at how much better the keyboard feels compared to in the store.

Very impressed however, I am having one small - that may end up being huge - issue. After a short period of time using this I am feeling very sick. I would describe it in the same way as if i were to read in the car. Does anybody else have this?!

Never had this feeling from a laptop before and i've had many!

I used to get sick reading in a car (until I stopped doing it!) so I know what you mean there (only some people get sick).

I have the new rMB and have had no problems. My first suspicion is it's something to do with the light, or the lack of surrounds around the screen (so you can see the stuff around it more, as well as the screen, similar to some of the in-car stuff). Maybe try it against or neutral background for a while.

Or possibly the different sensation coming through your fingers? The keyboard does feel different.

I'd also try playing with the resolution a bit... and the screen brightness. Sorry I can only give vague guesses... it sounds like something you'll be able to track down though.

And speaking of car sickness, did you also find that the home screen animations in iOS (the zooming in of the home screen etc) also made you feel sick? Made me feel sick (similar to car-sick) until they gave the option to switch it off.

I did wonder if those were the reasons too, so i'm giving it time to see if things improve. Going back to my 15" rMBP doesn't provide any issues at all. I have read a few other people have had similar issues with the retina screens, and it seems that it is something that goes with time. I'm hoping this is the case as for my use (i.e. basic!), it's pretty much perfect for me. The keyboard is quite loud though.

Will continue to play around with the resolution and the brightness and hopefully it just stops happening when my eyes/body adjust to the new form factor - whatever the reason is that causes this.

As of this morning the status changed to "Preparing handover to final carrier". It's WELL ahead of delivery expectations!! GREAT!

Just updated with UPS tracking and it delivers tomorrow. Therefore a small recap:

Ordered 8th June
Shipped 12th June
Delivered 19th June

A 9 days delivery from order I wouldn't have expected since the delivery window was 8-21 July. :D

Preparing for dispatch. Finally!

Ordered 1.2, 512, SG on 27th May. Delivery estimate 24th June -7th July. UK.

OK so now I get to join this thread... :)

Ordered a rMB 1.3 just now (technically 25th June cos I placed the order just after midnight), and I have a shipping estimate for 22nd-29th July. Made the order from the online Apple store in France (so I am unfortunately paying way more than what it would cost in the states, just shy of 2000 euros which is around $US2200!), and I selected the British English keyboard because it was the only english language keyboard I could see that has a key cap for the euro symbol as well as $ signs. Not a big deal but since I live in Europe it has annoyed me for a while that my current laptop (with an international english keyboard) doesn't have one.

So now let's see if it arrives significantly earlier than estimated, as seems to be happening often with people who are placing orders just now... With any luck, it's a sign that the production rates are up and they're shipping them out the door quickly. Fingers crossed.

Curious to see as well if the colour choice affects the delivery time. It feels like everyone is jumping over themselves to get a space grey or gold, which could either mean that those models take longer to get out because of backlogs.. or possibly the opposite is true - since way less people are ordering silver, the construction lines could be only making a handful of those so it'll take longer..! We'll see. Will let you all know if it arrives super early. Or super late...

What's the latest on delivery speeds? I know it still says 3-4 weeks online, but hearing stories of them arriving much quicker than expected.

in the UK, they are stocking up in stores slowly, picked up my 1.1 256 space grey yesterday at the Westfield Stratford Center Mall

As promised, here's what happened with my shipment:

rMB 1.3 512 silver, ordered 25th June Apple store France, estimated delivery was "3-4 weeks". Arrived on the 17th July (Paris) so, not particularly fast but also comfortably within the suggested window. Once the order moved from "processing" to "shipping", the estimated arrival day was the 17th July so they got that right.

Annoyingly, I got the "today's the day" sms from Apple on the 16th telling me to expect my delivery that day, so I stayed home for it... UPS then spent the day moving it from one depot to another in the outer suburbs (I watched the tracking site with bewilderment), and only at the very end of the day the tracking site said delivery would be delayed one business day. So it ended up arriving on the 17th as originally estimated after all. If I hadn't received the misleading text message from Apple I wouldn't have wasted a day waiting for it.

Anyway, it's here now and is as expected, quite lovely. Performance is fine, a bit of application switching lag at first but to be fair, I was running an update process on around 6 or 7 apps (and the OS itself) from the app store as well as pulling down apps I already have purchased previously (pixelmator, FCP X and a few others). Once that was done, everything became buttery smooth (within reason of course) and the battery life seems to be right on the money.

Currently trying to figure out what display res I like best for general use. Am switching between the built in "more space" option (1440x900 I think?), and 1680x1050 using Switch Res X. 1680x1050 is surprisingly usable for me and not really fatiguing, I even find 1920x1200 to be really OK to work with, except that it starts looking a bit less "retina crisp" by that point.

Really happy with it so far! The keyboard is hardly bothering me at all, from playing around with machines pre-purchase, I realised that the trick might be to remind yourself to just not type hard - even though the keyboard somehow makes you feel like you should. Once I got used to doing that, it's been great. Also I think a lot of people are getting tired hands because since the key travel is so shallow, you feel instinctively that you have to hold your fingers tense all the time (to avoid letting them rest on the keyboard) otherwise you feel like you might accidentally trigger presses. But that doesn't appear to be true. The keys may have little travel but they are firm and snappy, so you can just rest your hands on the keyboard as you normally would, even if you have big heavy hands like mine. Once you realise you don't need to keep your hands tense at all, you don't build up any undue fatigue, or at least I haven't.

Anyway digressions aside, my BTO order I guess falls into the 3 weeks from order to arrival timeframe. Would be curious to see if people who've made more recent orders are getting them any faster now.

I ordered mine 12th July, estimated 2-3 weeks with a delivery date between 4th - 10th August.

Fingers crossed it arrives sooner.
