“Kids” also perform natural obligations whether you realize it or not. It’s natural. It’s exploring. Its discovery. It’s about learning and growing
There's a reason adult stores ID children everyone, this material is illegal for them minors. Children exploring themselves doesn't mean we need to supplement it with the most hardcode vile content imaginable.

Say what you want, but I am sure a fair share of Apple users outside the EU now think that alternative app stores are not such a bad idea after all.

Yes -- it's almost like the larger point is that users should be able to do what they'd like to do with their own devices

Apple makes and sells things, but they have no business trying to restrict what device owners do with them

There's a reason adult stores ID children as well, this material is illegal for them. Children exploring themselves doesn't mean we need to supplement it with the most hardcode vile content imaginable.

You're mixing up the responsible parties here ... nobody is saying "give unrestricted porn to kids"

The issue is that Apple is not the party that should be getting involved here

Lovely. As if there aren't enough avenues to give your hands a workout.

Thank god this bs isn't available in the US

I am not interested in this at all but being able to install whatever software you want on hardware your own means just that, regardless of how "taboo" some software may be. You own the hardware, therefore you should be able to install whatever software you please.

Do “they” ID them in adult online sites/stores? Big difference between brick and mortar stores and online sites.

Fascinating display of some holier than thou thinking in here

I don't see anyone clamoring for a ban on Safari (or other web browsers)
While I don't really have an opinion on this (other than that I still think forcing Apple to offer alternate app stores is a ridiculous overreach when they have 25% of the market in the EU), I do think there is a difference between "using Safari to access a website and using Apple's intellectual property to specifically serve this type of content; particularly when I suspect a large swath of the general public thinks that Apple has "endorsed" any app on the App Store.

(And yes, I understand using Safari to access porn is also using Apple's IP to access porn, but I think there is a difference)

This is on AltStore, not the App Store

Agree about browsers ...

Tim is a never-nude apparently. I don't understand why adult apps are unavailable on iPhone.

I wouldn't download one, but millions would.

I certainly wouldn't download such a thing either. No sir! But, umm, they should be available though, because I'm sure some people would like it, I guess?

They [websites in affected states/localities] do where it's legally mandated. Or they pull their services from the region, which while they're free to do, I find quite telling.

So they ID where it's legally mandated or they pull their services from the region

What is the issue?

Isn't that exactly how one should behave in jurisdictions?

Just like how Apple has complied with the rules set out by the EU to operate within that region

Where did I say there's an issue? Did I not say they're free to vacate a region?

I'm aware, but I suspect those who don't understand Apple hasn't endorsed every app on the App Store outside of "doesn't have malware" might also not get the difference.

Again, I don't have a strong opinion on this one, outside of Apple shouldn't have to offer alternate app stores in the first place, but that shipped has long sailed in the EU unless Big Tech can convince POTUS that scrapping the DMA is what the EU has to do to avoid the wrath of tariffs.

How's that different from Reddit, the native, globally accessible from Apple App Store, porn app?

If I remember correctly, that was an issue and Reddit was almost removed from the store. They compromised by requiring you to agree that you are 18+ on the reddit website to enable it in the app.

I don't use Reddit so way for me to verify.
