'Evasi0n' Arrives as First Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 5 and iOS 6.x

Volume down button bug in Activator

After I installed Activator on my iPad 3, pressing the volume down button 3 times will mute the volume completely. Once this happens, if you turn the volume up a few bars, pressing the volume down button once will cause the volume to be muted completely (does not require 3 presses). So basically, the volume down button acts as a instant volume 0 button (not toggle).

I uninstalled Activator and the problem went away.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The term is "lesser of two evils" meaning both are evil, but one is less evil than the other.

And technically... you can't have a "best" out of two things, only a "better".

This JB is flawless (do read the readme first)!

I'm not able to retrieve my Intelliscreen due to the traffic to Cydia not being able to load my account. It's nuts!! :D

Finally, I am able to once again tether and this time w/ LTE. I can't freakin' wait!:D:D:D

I downloaded a pirated app once, loved the app so i went and bought it. would never have bought it other wise, it was tom-tom, 50 bucks is a bit pricey to not get to try before you buy

as awesome it was to have all devices jailbroken at once, i think for the sake of cydia, next time they should stagger the releases.
 
I'll be honest, I did the jailbreak for one app only. A wifi analyzer. When that was taken away from me by iOS 5, I decided I wanted it on my mini. I'm just not happy with the way the iPad was dealing with the jailbreak. I may do it later, but for now I'm back to stock.
 
I did the JB on my 4S

i did my jb on my 4s but i cant really see anymore why I should have it jb.
the only thing I miss is Cydialer but thats not compatible with ios6.
dont even need to unlock, i like the carrier i have right now.

anyhow.. i'll just wait until cydialer shows up again.
 
just bought lockinfo for 3.99
best 4 bucks I've spent since I got this iPhone lol

Sure, it allows you to pirate an app, since it makes it possible to change any of the running software. So you can make it skip the check that validates that you own an app. But that is far from the most common usage of jailbreaking (in my estimation at least).

Personally, I've never installed pirated software on my iPhone. I've paid for all my iOS apps, both from Apple's App Store and from Cydia. Cydia (the app store for jailbroken devices) has many apps that cost money and many of them are worth paying for.

Pandora Skip works fine for me. I got the one from xsellize source

Bitesms, is really the only reason to JB anymore in my opinion. As soon as Apple have comparable features, I won't JB.

Not sure if my memory is foggy, but what does biteSMS have that regular messaging doesn't have again? You can buy credits?

Edit: I remember now. Not worth JB just for biteSMS.

quick reply, hide messages, quick compose, passcode lock, themes (if you want them)

quick reply, and the hide messages features are great!! you know you don't want the kids reading your texts to the wife....lol

Nah, i admit i used it for Free Apps as well, (although it can be done without jailbreak now after all, stupid apple for blocking jailbreak, the hole of piracy is still outthere whatever they did, they should realize jailbreak indeed boost up their selling)

but Siri for iPhone 4, Java Nitro Script Enabled for All App, Download Youtube Video, Twitter on my Notif Center, Quick Setting in Notif Center, Real Multitasking, Graphic Framework Boost, windows 8 UI on iPhone, etc,

that's what make me keep jailbreaking my iDevices, all of it... because u never reach a true potential without jailbreaking

but i guess most of user won't understand... since most of them are even never jailbreaking, even once... :)

Edit: Did quick google search, not worth it. Just JB if you really need pirated apps.
 
Fairly painless!
iPhone 4S iOS 6.1
Mac OS X

DL'd and installed evasi0n on freshly wiped device, 5 minutes.

No stock weather app issue.

Rebuilding from scratch, no iTunes backup or PkgBackup.

Was a bit sluggish loading up Cydia and getting into my account, but all is as it should be, more or less....

Is there a 6.1 comcenter hack available yet to enable tethering for those who need such a feature?

Not yet. Paid apps seem to be the hardest to get to load on Cydia right now. Tried all day to get some of my paid apps back.. not happening.
