Today's keynote event would definitely have to be damaging to the Apple brand. Not a good look. What has happened to Apple? No surprises? Apple have become the most conservative company, the most boring. Two stars out of five.

I'm pretty disgusted that there wasn't even a mention of the Mac in the keynote. It was the worst I've ever witnessed and I'm annoyed I wasted my time watching Apple release a few straps for a watch no one cares about, a re-release of the iPhone 5 with improved internals and an iPad that unless you have anything pre first-gen iPad Air, then why would you even bother with it?

1/10 for that keynote. The environmental stuff was the highlight (really!) and I genuinely mean that.

Having spent a lot of money on the 128GB version of the 12" iPad Pro at launch only a few months ago, I am really not happy they've announced a 256GB version now, just a few months later. I would have bought the 256GB version in the first place had it been available. This is a real kick in the teeth for iPad Pro customers. They should have made the 256GB verision available at launch last November.

The 12" iPad Pro logic board only has a single NAND chip and Samsung only started making 256GB chips a month ago. Apple probably didn't want to make logic board larger and more complex when they knew bigger chips were around the corner.

Besides, 128GB is fine for just an iPad, it's not like they're marketing it as a PC repla...er...never mind.

Man, absolutely nothing new today that we haven't seen in other products. We knew it was coming but I can't help but feel disappointed that Apple is using a 4 year old design for their new 4" phone. The designs back then we great but Apple shouldn't live in the past. They have great designers. Put them to work and make another great design.

I actually think Lisa's segment was the most interesting but even then, I could swear I saw that solar farm in another keynote. Even the presentations were made up of old parts from other presentations

The bad news of today's event: a new iPhone with an almost four year old design.

Honestly, the presentation was terrible. There is literally no one at my office as bad at presenting as any of the people on that stage today. Hire someone who can speak and present like a human, for Pete's sake, even if that's their only job. Staring at the floor, laughing at their own "jokes," stumbling over simple phrases, and speaking like a robot from a 60's television show...absolutely atrocious.

Having said that, I've made it this long without an iPad, and the 9.7 Pro with 256Gb suits me just fine. I can read WSJ on the train comfortably, put a hundred or so albums on it in a lossless format for good quality listening without the need to compress them beyond belief, plenty of room for a few movies for long flights, the smart keyboard allows me to revise and redline docs on the plane when the full-size laptop (which will never be replaced by an iPad, Tim) isn't needed or welcome.

If I had an Air2 I wouldn't bother, but I don't. For those of us who've held out this long, I don't think the 9.7" form gets a whole lot better than this.

I'm a bit concerned about the lack of updates for Macs honestly - all of the Macs are overdue for updates and the lack of any real rumours about them as well has me a tad concerned.

I get that the majority of Apple's revenue comes from mobile devices but I can't help but feel lately that Apple aren't too fussed about desktop computing.

Mac OSX has been living a secret double life. Audience gasps.

Fast forward to today. Check out my new watchband. Whatever. Check out my iPhone 5s. Yeah whatever. I could have stayed home.

It's inevitable that Apple will make mistakes. Today's keynote was one of them. Sadly. There was really no new content. Just filler to past the hour by.

Apple goodness has been saturated. Really, what's left anymore? A speed bump upgrade much too soon comes as a slap in the face to prior buyers.

Yawn. Siri, set timer for 14 minutes.
The last Apple Ad was more exciting than this event.

I don't really see it as a kick in teeth. It was released 4 months ago. If 128gb is not enough I wouldn't buy it personally. Wouldn't make sense to spend money for a new product to feel like I'm settling.

Perhaps the worst Apple event in recent history. Although the company's efforts in promoting renewable energy and green initiatives are laudable, they need to remember that they are primarily a technology company that needs to keep their fan base excited and engaged. Today, I watched a video on Apple's salvage robot, but if they keep this up, that same robot might end up with all of my Apple products as I move on to another company that innovates as Apple once did under Steve Jobs.

Whats up with MacPro or Mac Mini? Seems sucha no brainer for a yearly refresh. Macbooks? Instead we get Nylon Watch bands? Seriously?

I just dont understand where Apple is going. I certainly like my large iPP however it's by no means a true desktop replacement.

Do i need to get familiar with Windows10 when i want current hardware?

Those saying that the newer version of the 128GB iPad Pro is a kick in the teeth, I agree. Not an iPad Pro user, but I didn't think think they'd do this again after the kicking they got online when they did it with the iPad 3 then a few months later out came the 'New' iPad.

And as for no Macs....that doesn't surprise me. Although, I also see that as a good thing because it means they haven't decided to make the last couple of Macs that aren't sealed units into single piece disposable computers....yet. As you say, most of their revenue is from mobile devices these days. Worryingly I wonder if they're putting all their eggs in the one basket. If the bottom falls out of the mobile market - and it eventually will, we can only have so many smartphones before you just won't sell millions a quarter - Apple could find itself not making huge profits, and the shareholders won't like that I guess.

yawn... Apple no longer innovates.. they just make the same thing in different sizes and increase some obscure chip by 25%
I know what you mean. Kind of like Nike. The shoes I bought yesterday are not much different that the ones I bought in the 70's. Come on, where's the innovation Nike.

I'm always pro-Apple, but this was definitely the most lackluster keynote I can ever remember. I worry that Apple is so focused on trying to justify the iPad's existence (and enhance sales to appease shareholders) that it's ignoring what customers are telling them, which is --- "The iPad is a nice-to-have product, but my big-screen iPhone does much of the same things and it cannot replace my Mac for enough key tasks that I don't need to own one anymore."

Even the introduction of the Smart Keyboard is a mea culpa that a keyboard paired with an angled display is a good idea. I'm all for Apple trying to make the iPad a compelling product in the sub-$1,000 price point, but not at the expense of ignoring the Mac which so many of us still love and plan to own long into the future for our computing. We're now in year 4 of the same MacBook Pro design, same iMac design (5K is great, but same body since 2012), same Mac Mini design, a Mac Pro that they unveiled and then forgot about, and a 27" Thunderbolt Display (2011) that still sells for $999 despite having specs worth less than half in 2016. Here's hoping the Mac gets it's proper love and support at WWDC or Fall at the latest.

So today was a bit disappointing, but the most SHOCKING thing has been the price in euro's. I live in Ireland and have had every gen of iPad but i'm still stunned by the price apple have just released online.
€699 for the 32gb? that's the equivalent to $786 dollars!!!!!!

How can they justify this?

What Apple fails to realize is that many people own iPhones because it integrates so nice with OSX. If they continue to fil to deliver adequate hardware (eg up to date CPU every time they are available) people move to Dell or other brands.

Suddenly it doesnt really matter if you have an iPhone or Android since the ecosystem is fragmented already.

I hope they stop with this attitude and deliver upgrades in a timely manner. They should have no issues getting the necessary ressourccea, right?
