I’m curious about the updated chart. I get the idea that some so-called ‘new’ bands are actually rebrands/renamed bands from past season(s). Like Midnight/Storm/Starlight Solo Loop, Red/Beige/Midnight BSL, Red/Starlight/White/Midnight SB and Nike Black/Black and Summit White/Black SB. Others, like Nike Olive Grey/Black SB and Ink LL as well as the colours Succulent and Slate look very similar to bands from past seasons. Up till now I bought every new colour/band that was available during the season (with the exception of solo loops that have similarly coloured SB’s). However, I feel like I’ve come to the point that multiple bands that are new actually match (or at least closely match) already existing bands. So I might decide to stop being a completist and only buy bands that are significantly different from past bands.

I wonder how others here look at it.

I’ll speak to the two new neutral Nikes that seem to be set to be default bands for years to come…first white base Nike SB other than Pride…first ever Nike band with a color repeated. I’ve wanted black/black since I saw some special edition Swedish club soccer jersey that Nike did black on black.

Olive Grey repeat seems lazy in name, but the hero shot gives hope that it’s signfiicantly lighter than last fall’s, lets wait and see.

Is the new Succulent color kind of like Beryl? Color experts please advise. Thanks in advance.
Also why is the new color collection so monochromatic? I was expecting a bit more excitement, but this release is very muted.

It’s always impossible with these kinds of bands and the product marketing image. It seems like it’s gonna be more muted like Mineral Green based on the event video. We’ll see if there’s any color-shift depending on lighting like its almost-namesake cactus.

Deirdre is wearing i think, starting at 8:07…go and check out how the light plays on it as she and the camera move.

If Mineral is “blue pistachio”…my hunch is Succulent is ”blue mineral green” (beryl without the glow?). The blue look in the video has me excited that it might be a chameleon like Cactus, now.

New Nike looks (too many gradients to process for now haha)…this Olive Grey might be a proper naming of the second Cargo Khaki option from last fall.

Cheap (Watch) event for me. S8 not worth upgrading to from S7, Ultra is for other people. Bands ok for noobs and ultra-collectors, I‘m just gonna grab Sunlight Solo and Slate Blue Braided for now. Waiting for real-life pics of Elderberry SB (Dark Dark Cherry?) and Rainforest Braided. Not a Sport Loop guy, but I like this season much better than the last few. Hermès H Diagonal is probably my favourite H print so far (because subtle), but I refuse to pay for the print (above and beyond the „regular“ - i.e. sky-high already - Hermès leather prices). Jumping on the way out with only two new bands? Would be a shame.

I'm curious if the two Nike SB black and white are identical to the previous ones. I would think it would be nice if black were really much darker and the white more like a white SB. But I will see it 😂

I'm thinking of getting the Series 8 this year, looking at starlight aluminum. I'm hoping you all might have some pics of darker bands with the lighter case. (I have a Space Grey SE but want something a bit different.)

I wear only sport loops & sport bands (Nike & "regular"), but pics of any of the darker bands would be much appreciated.

Thanx!

If you go for starlight I would choose the Series 7 personally. The Series 8 does imho not add anything significant to the experience and the Series 7 will soon be available at a much more friendly price.

I like the Olive Gray/Cargo Khaki Nike band better than the new Olive Gray Nike band (from what I've seen of the new one in photos), so since the former is no longer available on Apple's site, I went to my local Apple store to pick up last years Olive Gray before they pull them in favor of the Olive Gray shown yesterday. I'll also be picking up the red Nike band, as this is the first time a red Nike band has been offered, if I'm not mistaken.

I love Abyss Blue on Starlight:

Ironstone ain’t bad either:

This was my first light aluminum, no regrets.

Cargo Khaki and the like is lighter IMHO. In the TOP one its def lighter, in the bottom the smaller wedge is lighter. So goofy.
No one puts in so much care yet so little care quite like the poor soul tasked with the Nike updates. Perhaps they knew Olive Grey 2022 was coming and that’s why last year’s got the weird Cargo Khaki name even though it wasn’t green.

They are not the same, it's true white/black and darker blacks
It’s weird because Anthracite was never really Anthracite, which in the Nike catalog is a cool true dark silver. And it was never black, just caught in between. I have a mint Anthra I need to equip and photo. It’s at least closer to black when new, a look I forgot because my old Anthra I got when it first appeared.
