I just went on the app and totally see what you mean. The Celestial Teal is a true blue and Obsidian Mist is more of a light gray violet with hints of green in it but the app does make them seem similar. It also doesn’t do justice for Celestial Teal as you see in my photos how blue it actually is.

It looks a lot bluer in your photos than it does in my band drawer! I need to get it out in the sunlight 😆

Has anyone posted a comparison of Celestial Teal Nike Sport Loop vs the new Obsidian Mist Nike Sport Loop?

I've been on a bit of a spree recently and need to slim down my "wishlist" a little.

Thank you!!!

I think I see how the similarity appears in the hero shots... They both have the black weave running through them and the Celestial Teal has the same grey running through it as the other secondary colour... Obv Obsidian mist has a lot more of that grey though as it's the primary colour.

Definitely sufficiently different in real life. "Thanks"... or thanks... depending on whether you're looking at my bank balance or not. 🤯

Hi - have to agree about this watch band, absolutely love it! Can I ask which Nike Watch face colour you picked? I can’t get one to match exactly? Did you use “total orange”?

Hi! Yes, I used the orange. Not exactly "mango" but it appears to match the band pretty well :)

I would try saturating the fabric with rubbing alcohol.

No, don't do that. A simple washing (just like with your hands) will do the trick. Get a bowl, add a small amount of Woolite, fill with warm water and let it soak for about 15 minutes (you can soak longer and scrub gently with a toothbrush if there are stains). Rinse and dry thoroughly and you're all set.

Thanks! How warm do you usually set your water? Will detergent do if you don't have "woolite" (i'm not in the states)? I literally stopped wearing my sport loops outdoors because it's a pain to wash and dry them after each wear, sport bands are more convenient. But buying bands from local forums/ebay is another thing, sometimes "new but not in box" isn't really new.

My Nike Obsidian/Black band arrived just now (having difficulty uploading photos :( ) in demo box with the sticker still over the pin. WOO. It's such a nice shade. As expected...

What wasn't expected was that the other box was Delft blue rather than royal blue... I guess that could be a translation error on my part. However, I really like the colour and had nothing else between 1st Gen Blue and Blue cobalt. I'll be keeping it and ending my search for Royal Blue.

On an unrelated note... has anyone got any experience with wearing sport bands on the very last hole?

I tried the S/M part of my new Delft band and found myself to be right at the last hole (ie, almost too small). It was comfy though... I'm just worried about the security of it and if it might fall off. I'm thinking about picking up the Hermès sport band, which only tends to come in S/M for the 38mm/40mm...

Managed to yoink a bnib plum sport loop for £25, really pleased with it as i dont usually buy loops, im more a sports band girl. Here it is and i also try to match my wrist bands to my watch strap too, aswell as my clothes lol 😊

Don't think it was a translation error, more likely the seller just randomly named the bands as they no longer have the box, so they just guessed the color. I've found a "surf blue" band that was released in 2015 too.

Yesterday's arrival.... 3 new bands and my first Nike Sports Loop! More are to come, so that I'll finally hit the 30 band mark.
Obsidian Mist Nike SL, Inverness SL and - my special favorite - Smokey Mauve/Particle Beige Nike SB. I love the tint of Obsidian Mist even on a grey day.

This was still in the demo box... but with the name listed in English. Either I made the mistake, the seller did - or Apple reused a name in Chinese 😂

Either way it's definitely a good buy for the price. Personally it's my favourite blue out of the ones I have. Mine is still in the box since purchasing it in Ginza.

Went swimming with the Braided Loop..

It was a bit of a reckless thing I should’ve taken more care to think and just swap to a sport band, I just blindly remembered “oh yeah water resistant, fine”, but upon further inspection after, that’s not the same as the “swim proof” the Solo Loop was...

Basically it got really wet to the point where you could squeeze out the water afterwards, it didn’t deform or anything, but it took a noticeably long time afterwards in the sun to dry off. Not to mention any sand that got on the band stuck to it pretty unpleasantly.

basically - I really wouldn’t recommend swimming with the Braided Loop, if you have a Sport Band or even better Solo Loop just make the effort to switch over to that one as they’ve been tried and tested as safe for swimming, lucky I didn’t ruin or otherwise noticeably damage the Braided Loop!

Price of the band probably means "luxury item" LOL. Best to keep swimming to the sport bands/loops I guess.

FWIW for anyone wondering about sizing a Braided Solo: I was exactly on the line between a 6 and a 7 on Apple’s sizing chart, both in-store and the at-home print out. It was wrapped tightly around my wrist. I bought a Size 5 originally, but it was too tight - exchanged for a size 6 today and it feels perfect. I can shake my wrist and there is no movement, but it doesn’t feel at all tight.

I fluctuate between the 2nd and 3rd largest hole on the S/M 44mm Sport Band.
