The iPhone 12 blue is a much better shade than the greyish blue on the 12 Pro.
I wish they had just called the cheaper phone Pacific Blue (it’s basically Green Horizon or Teal Horizon) and the Pro “Blue” so we could call it Professional Blue to clown on it. I guess we still can. Finally gonna be easy to choose gold after my Xs mistake.

I’m curious what was your XS mistake? Wrong color choice?

Today’s band — Spruce Vapour loop. Looks like the ceramic, but with just the tiniest green tinge to it.

Yeah I went jet black 7 plus, silver X, and then skipped the nice Xs gold to try my first “space black” of the new style and then the 11 gold wasn’t as nice on the backside.

I mean, when I got my 11 Pro, I remember being absolutely torn between Midnight Green and Space Grey. Eventually decided SG because as a classic colour, you just can’t go wrong with it and it would match more cases vs MG. To this day, sure, the SG isn’t as flashy/unique as MG, but at least I know I won’t get tired of it. The 7’s Jet Black was truly beautiful, I’m sad it never came back.

I think the 12 Pro’s colours looked really refined and nice, but I will not be upgrading because 11 Pro is still a really amazing phone with what it has to offer and the 12 Pro is a very marginal/incremental update from it. Plus the benefit of just saving money 😅

I can never say no to a new case design plus I’m so addicted to Telephoto for my watch/band shots and I’m sick of giving up quality versus wide. We’ll see how soon I forget ultrawide exists this cycle with the addition of night mode.

That’s a great point, Ultra Wide in my 11Pro, while it is actually an amazing thing to have, its only viable in decent lighting conditions, something I knew would always get fixed in the next iPhone. Still better than not having it at all, however, for me, the telephoto lens is more important for me (zoom in from a distance without compromising picture quality) and that one works decently enough in low light as it has OIS

Man, that one rocks on gold!
One more point in the 11 Pro colors...@Arcontia I found the space gray and midnight green disappointingly similar actually.

And wrt Pacific...I scored Dark Teal 44mm for $40 and hunted it in 40mm at the same price for that gold match awhile unsuccessfully. RBut now my strategy is to get neighbors in the different size rather than duplicates.

I made a visit to the Apple store on Monday to look at the Series 6. I'm upgrading from a Space Grey Series 3 and wanted to see the silver and blue aluminium options.

Managed to get some photos of the new bands.

Silver aluminium with Inverness Green sport loop (unfortunately the loop is for the 40mm watch, and I'm wearing the 44mm)

Blue aluminium with Diver Blue leather loop

I'd never tried on a leather loop before and I absolutely loved it. I also think it looks really good with the blue watch.

It really does look good! Although that diver blue is very dark blue to my taste.

Here is a combination I don‘t think I‘ve seen pictures of before – 44 silver Stainless with Graphite Milanese Loop. I always liked the Milanese Loop in principle, but I‘m wearing the matching silver one quite rarely because it is very „glitzy“, especially in the sun. The Graphite is a bit more subdued, which I like.

Well, I received my Nike Obsidian Mist bands (sport band and sport loop). Snd the shorter part of the Sport Band does not fit into the watch :( It is still usable with the pin end and longer part, but I guess I better return it.

The SM band of my Obsidian Mist sport band is definitely "tighter" to fit into both my S5 Ceramic and S4 SSS, but still does click in. Even though I haven't received anything I've had to return as of yet, I really hope Apple gets a grip on this QC issue before the next band season. It's disheartening that $59 Apple originals are fitting about as reliably as $5 AliExpress knockoffs.

Yeah, I had the same issue with the Nike Pride band earlier this year. At that time, the effort to return/exchange the band would have been too time consuming and with so many people having the same issue there was no guarantee the next one I'd get would be better. If it happens again on a different band, this time I'd definitely exchanging. Though with the whole "gap" thing, their QC has really been lacking.
