44mm Plum SBs in stock in the UK if I can help anyone out... UK retail higher than US though.
I have an extra plum coming Friday, but thanks! I was curious because the only resale price I had seen was for over $100 on eBay. I hadn’t realized they were about completely out of stock. $100 is absurd.

You‘re very welcome. 😊 I thought long and hard about buying that Ceramic S5 myself (I‘m in Europe) but in the end I didn‘t think I‘d wear it often enough. And the price is really very good IMO. Those 550 USD sound too good to be true, to be quite honest. Keeping my fingers crossed for Mike that it works out, but I‘d be very cautious if I got an offer like that which is way below current market value.
I don't know if I'll wear it "enough" either, given it will join an SS and SBSS S5 in my rotation. I think SS is still the classiest material for looking smart, and I rarely wear SBSS to work for that reason, though my SBSS is more often what I wear with a t-shirt. SBSS really brings out the best in a lot of the Nike Sport Bands, but I only wear those with t-shirts also. I think of it as my "casual" Watch.

I think ceramic will sit somewhere in between; it won't work with every band, but the ones that look good with it really look good with it, though most of the also look pretty good with SBSS (not the black Nikes though). I don't think it will look as smart as SS on a leather band does, but I'll wear it to work more often than SBSS. If I only had one Watch it would be SS as it's the most versatile, and therefore I absolutely didn't need SBSS, far less ceramic. But I like it.

Overall I'm gambling a bit that there won't be a ceramic S7 so the S5 will be the best for some time - and it could even be the last ceramic ever. The S5 with AOD is all I want in an Apple Watch - until Apple does it's speciality trick and shows me what I didn't know I wanted perhaps, but they didn't do that with the S6 upgrades - and as the S3 is still available I think the S5 will be supported for a fair few years of OS updates, so it should be along term keeper.

We can justify anything to ourselves if we really want to, I guess...

I’m in the same boat for deciding now but for £950 for ceramic s5 with 9 months warranty, I’ll wear it but do I need it.

Funny story about that...

When Apple discontinued everything but the core Sport Bands in September I was left out in the cold not yet having picked up Coastal Gray or Grapefruit, which my wife has in 40mm, but I'd decided I wanted also in 44mm.

Here in my home country and other Western European countries Grapefuit was not discontinued at all last September. At this moment it’s still in Apple’s sport band collection.

That's interesting. I just checked UK (as I can get bands forwarded from there via family) and it's not available there - or are you looking in the Accessories area where I've found oddities like Mellow Yellow her in NZ long after it was discontinued?

It’s definitely available in the UK Apple Store App...

That last point was what almost made me get the Ceramic; I also believe it may be the last of the Great Whites and as it is in a way the most iconic and most apple of all the Watches, I thought I should own it. But your first point was, in the end, stronger: over the years I tried several different materials and finishes (grey and silver Alu, black and gold Steel, silver Titanium) and always, always came back to the polished silver steel. 95% of bands just look best with it and it dresses up or down like a chameleon. I just think I‘m stuck with it for good and somehow I can‘t bring myself to get additional watch cases to wear just occasionally. Yet.

Rule of thumb is 50% of original price after a year. Given that, 950 GBP seems a little high. Maybe if it had Apple Care+.

But is it still listed on this page?

If not, it's discontinued. That's just old stock.

I look in the bands area on Apple.com. On the first page you then enter they always just show the newest colours but if you select a certain type of band it gives you all the colours available (including the permanent “standard” colours in the collection like black, white, red, etc).

I didn't click through to see the colours in the circles in the web page. I guess I'll be ordering that then...

And Cribbs Causeway - I worked in Brizzle for a number of years, though I commuted up the M5 to get there.

So I think our difference is that I crossed the line in April or May when I bought the SBSS, otherwise we're very similar. I'm glad you think like you do, otherwise you'd be the one with a ceramic S5 on the way now, not me :D
Might be “old stock” but it’s still available for sale when you click to see all available SB colours. And that’s what counts imho.
The page you refer to only lists this seasons new colours... always has.
This. I only looked at the front page of the "straps" section. When I clicked on one of them and that opened the Sport Band page I did see Grapefruit as an available option. That still seems odd as both Grapefruit and Coastal Gray were removed from the NZ circles when the S6 and SE went live on the site.

Looking now the UK has Surf Blue and Cactus listed still also, but none are in NZ.

Not exactly. It lists all bands currently in production. F/E; Pride 2020, Pure Platinum/Black, Saddle Brown LL, etc.

But yes, old stock bands are still available through the actual band page. It shows on the USA site, but isn’t in stock here.

I‘m sure I will feel a tinge of regret once you‘ll post the first pictures, but on the other hand it feels quite satisfying, especially in these strange times, to be part of this international community of Watch (band) collectors and to see the little Ceramic treasure continue its journey from Germany to Denmark and now to New Zealand. 😊
