The Basic Apple Guy mock-ups were bumming me out so I make some more “optimistic” versions, using more the MagSafe ring from the source images plus a color-corrected version of the factory leak. I would be lying if I didn‘t have same reaction, but it was ruined by how dark the other two are! The blue I can live with, but aubergine seems deep to the point of dullness! And the picture seems properly exposed.

Capri Blue and Amethyst Solo Loops for me, then. I happen to love that the latter seems to be so dark, reminds me a lot of the Dark Aubergine Classic Buckle (which is subtly awesome). Pistachio looks a lot like a slightly darker Mint and Cantaloupe I will have to see more real-life pictures of, but for now I'm at meh.

Ooh Capri, what a perfect name. I’ve been trying to shoehorn every manner of Greek vacation noun but perhaps I was on the wrong side of the Mediterranean. I’m sure I’ll love this purple, whatever it is, but Ultra Violet is plenty dark as it is.

I know we’ve had blue after blue after blue etc etc, but if we see another one close to Royal Blue, way back from 2016, that would be pretty awesome. At the time of its release, I remember I didn’t really appreciate it that much, only changing my mind later - I much preferred the Ocean Blue from later that year and remember how i felt a bit bummed it wasn’t released for the iPhone 6s I had at the time 😀

The picture at the very bottom of the 9to5mac page shows the amethyst to not be quite as dark as the photo with all four cases. A much better color, imo. I'm hopeful.

Yeah if Amethyst is as bright as that picture makes it out to be, the resale value of UV is going to tank.

Looking at the invite, it seems all the colors of the cases/bands are represented. Pistachio is at the end of the leaf where it tucks under the first stroke, Capri Blue and Amethyst are right next to each other, and Cantaloupe is not super well represented but is sorta hidden in the first loop where it transitions from Orange to Red. I wonder if we could see some Nikes that closely match the invite? I'm thinking with the primary colors of either yellow/green (the top of the apple itself), Red (the shades close to where Cantaloupe falls) and maybe a very, very pale blue (the end of the logo).

Or I'm reading too much into it and it's representing the colors of the new iMac that has been rumored since these colors pretty closely represent the iPad Air's current colors.

So maybe Amethyst is similar is brightness and saturation to Ultra Violet and just takes on a blue cast. Tried to split the difference between the various new photos here:

I could see them doing a green braid that’s lighter than Pistachio a la Pink Punch<->Pink Citrus, but otherwise hoping not...would prefer yellow and orange braids.
