@jeremyfernie the red leather hermes is gorgeous!!

It definitely is a very nice shade -- perfect balance of bold and subtle, which is well suited to my intentions for it (semi-formal / formal wear). I decided that I couldn't resist it once @athousandbands sent me some photos recently. I'm changing the lugs to SBSS later this week, same goes for Étain. Maybe I'll take some on-wrist shots of them (with SBSS S6) after that, if anyone is interested.

Let us know. I don’t envy your position! It’s good that they did something after the sizing nightmare. Hopefully it‘s data-driven!
So the Pistachio and Charcoal I just received are the same size. The others have been worn so have some stretching, but I just now kinda scrunched up the others and they seem to have gone back to their original sizes. I don’t think there’s really a difference between the new colors and the old, at least not on the 40mm size 2 (the Blue is size 3)

Ok so perhaps the braids were always shorter than the silicone out of the box.

Hmmm, well that's not good. I'm a size 2, though I could wear a size 3. If the size 2 is now smaller, it'll be too small for me! Why can't they be consistent with this?

My Pistachio arrives tomorrow so I guess I'll see if I have to send it back.
I actually think it’s just luck of the draw as to the length, I have 4 of the fall braided loops in a size 2 and they are all slightly different in length. In fact when I received the first Atlantic Blue in a size 2 it was quite a bit longer than the Pink Punch I already had and was therefore too long so I sent it back and reordered a month later only to receive one that was shorter than the pink punch one 🙁. The inverness green is the longest of the ones I have, its more like a size 3! So there seems to be a lot of inconsistencies in the sizes and guess it’s the same with the Spring braided loops which is annoying 🙁.

So it sounds like the BSL is a pseudo-bespoke product immune to Apple’s usually tight tolerances (Nike sport band chunk aside)

I actually find it to be the opposite. Maybe it is the difference in the materials. I wear a 6 in the braided but in the silicone, I need a 7. The 6 is just a tiny bit too tight in the silicone but perfect in the braided.

I also tried on a few of the new colours while at the store.

Canteloupe in my opinion is definitely a winner and unlike the others, you have a choice of either Sport Band or Solo Loop - it’s not at all similar to the several oranges we’ve had recently whether that’s Vitamin C or Kumquat or Clementine or whatever. It’s definitely vastly different - a pale pastel orange.

Ordered the olive sport loop a little late (Monday or Tuesday) and it wasn’t due to arrive til next Friday. Somehow it got here before the airtags I preordered within an hour of the preorder window opening and with a delivery date of today.

I love the blue in it. What I thought was red is more watermelon - would be a good match for the GMT watch face, except this blue isn’t navy! We’ll come back to this in a month because maybe its just the newness talking, but I think this is my favourite band. And it doesn’t even have Volt running through it like the rest of my top 5.

Decided to try something different so ordered the Chalk Leather Link to use with my Graphite Watch:

My wrist is about 175mm circumference so I opted for the M/L band. As you can see, the ’tail’ of the strap almost goes all the way round the the other lug.

Initially I felt the smaller band would have been better, but I’ve rapidly come to like it as a ‘feature’.

It gives a strong ‘Space 1999’ vibe… Retro!

Thanks for the modeling pic. I'm definitely getting this band. Cantaloupe is very fresh looking and great for the hot months ahead.

Too bad the color Pistachio didn't come in the sports band, I don't like the loop version.

I wasn't going to get this band, but you are dragging me towards it with this pic. That blue and watermelon!!! I just don't know what face I would use with it.

I love the braided loop design, they show off the colors better, but I just can't get over it in my head how I can't wipe it down or wash it, if I wear it constantly. I love the hot pink and the pistachio btw.
No reason to wear anything constantly...change bands out every day or two and they will stay looking new. But even if you do wear the same band constantly, they can be kept looking nice. I wipe down my band every night when I take my watch off, and give any of them a good scrub when needed. I don't own a braided solo, but I've heard several people say they have thrown theirs in the wash in a mesh lingerie bag multiple times without issue. Bottom line is, there's no reason for a band to look grimy if it's taken care of and washed properly.

I don’t know what Apple was thinking with this seasons release of making colours exclusive to either Sport Band or Solo Loop, suggests Solo Loop isn’t intended to replace the Sport Band but perhaps compliment it? Previous seasons for the S6, Fall and Winter, everything was available as both Sport and Solo.

Enjoy Canteloupe, that one really is great 😀

My guess is the Capri/surf glow is maybe not possible with the silicon material and then cantaloupe got double duty because pink/oranges are more widely popular sellers than a green? And match gold watches?
