So... there is about 140 bands of each kind in existence... in China? Worldwide? This information about 6132 bands is not fully clear...
I’d say there’s 6,132 of each kind available. A total of 6,132 doesn’t seem realistic to me. They would be sold out then long time already by now. Here in my country every strap is still available for direct shipping, except New Zealand and the US which will ship late July.

Delivery Just received of Great Britain and Canadian England Bands.

I tweaked the watch face to better represent the England Flag

I think those are just numbers for China, but of course you can extrapolate. I think that’s the total number for the country. Interesting the implied large portion of home-country bands.
discussed it with... someone, and they assumed that these numbers have to be global, as in China there is only one Apple Online Store, and text of disclaimer says "in Apple Online StoreS". But it is also a question how accurate the translation is

Here in the U.K., only the GBR is available in store for pickup (so far). That would make the 6000ish per country, total, make sense.

But then I believe some other countries have loops beyond their own, available in store today. Germany for example (from @choreographics). So it’s all a bit of a mystery!

Thanks to everyone posting beautiful pics of the Olympic bands, I couldn’t help myself and got three.
How long will Apple hold my order for? We’re in lockdown at the moment and I can’t get to a store for another week or two.

@choreographics is living in Germany, so what did you mean?..
Yes, so he has confirmed Germany has a store in Berlin that stocks more than just the Germany loop (sorry, it’s confusing trying to separate countries and country loops to make things make sense 😅). In the U.K. we so far only have the GBR loop in store.

Every single one I tried (5+) is available for in-store pickup in Hong Kong.

Seems we’re a bit behind the times here then!

Scrap that, a German loop is available at one store in London. So I guess it’s just going to trickle in slowly.

Checked couple of EU countries - so, in regular Apple retail stores only the bands of this country are available, and only in ONE biggest retail store most of them are available. In Germany - in Apple Kurfürstendamm, in France - in Apple Champs-Élysées, etc. And flagship stores have 7 of home country bands (in regular stores - 3-4) and no more than 3 bands of other countries bands. And some countries does not have any - i.e. in Austria the only Apple Store does have 0 international loops
So, now I believe even more that 2605 was total for all retail stores worldwide...

It seems like they go beyond just your Apple ID block your address at some point. Maybe they’re also cracking down on billing addresses that don’t match shipping?

So you’re best off just having a friend use their account and house, if that’s accessible.
I was able to order one band to a different shipping address-- my Germany one is back ordered until after I move.

Right but it’s saying 2605 are all that’s available online. If that’s correct, which it has to be for legal reasons, and your statement is also correct, that means (not adjusting for home country bias) there was only ~60 bands per SKU in China online.

I’m actually starting to think you may be right. Reading further into it I have this take away. The statement is “The official limited edition Apple Watch international series straps are on sale in Apple Store retail stores and Apple Store online stores. The number is limited to 6,132 pieces including 2,605 pieces in Apple Store online stores and 3,527 in Apple Store retail stores.”

This statement is clearly referring to - and again I quote - ‘the collection’. This to me signifies the entire 22 band series is limited to this number.
