Only Apple can remove all of the ports on a Mac and then bring them all back as if it's some innovative idea. Either they are dumb, or they think the people that will buy this are dumb.
I thouhgt the same. Watching this was like „that cant be true“. They redid what was for years aspected. The funniest mention was „no more adaptors“. USB-sticks, printers and many more are still using the good old usb port.
next model will probably have them und 6-10 yrs 😂😂😂

I'm most keenly looking for news on how the new hardware works with Adobe SW--weren't there issues with the first M1 chips and Adobe?

The notch is a dealbreaker for me, and I suspect it will be for many of my clients. It's going to cover up menus, and it's going to be unbelievably distracting. It was bad on the phones, but it's absolutely insane on a computer. There's a much better solution, one we've been using for years. It's called a bezel.

My advice remains the same: Buy a 16" Intel MacBook Pro while you still can.

They said magsafe is "back". That's not pretending it's innovative.

To me, it came across as an admission that removing ports was a mistake.

And the ports are not a selling point because people are tricked in to thinking they are innovative; they are a selling point because people want the connectivity. The only dumb people are those who refuse to buy it for the ports because Apple emphasized connectivity after trashing it.

Your loss. I love the extra pixels.

Finally…. After years and years of waiting for a suitable heir, I can lay my old sweet price to rest and get a new MBP. I love that they actually addressed every pain point of the previous model one by one in the presentation. And man… those processors, that screen… beautiful machines.

Finally!
I've been waiting for those MacBooks for about 10 years now.
Haven't changed my Late 2013 13" MacBook Pro by now as I had no viable replacement for it, given the trash Apple has put out with its 2016-2020 generation.
M1 Macs were a big surprise last year, but they were still relying on the old flawed hardware platform.
Those new ones are what I've been waiting for for so much time. I can now finally put the old one to rest and buy a beefed up 14" inch unit.
Same here. Waiting to retire my Late 2013 15" MBP. Ordered the 14" 10/24/16/32MB/1TB, should last me at least 8 years...
