What a joke. Apple really pushing their lazy incrementalism with these minimal annual updates.

AW S10 is thinner with a bigger screen — great! But no new health sensors and SpO2 not resolved? And what’s with the hideous large bezels? For the Ultra, last year’s model gets a new color and some hideous Hermes bands. Come on…

The 4-year-old AirPods Max got a port update and… that’s it.

iPhones’ RAM and cameras are behind the Pixel Pro 9. But hey, the A18 “challenges latest desktop processors” so you can load TikTok filters faster, I guess? And boy are they pushing AI as the next big thing with iPhone to fill up time.

Don’t worry though: everything’s carbon neutral!!!!!!

Crazy that hearing aid feature coming to Pro 2’s (not exclusive to a new model) is the most exciting announcement.

iPhone 16 is just a minor revision but APPLE INTELLIGENCE and CAMERA CONTROL BUTTON! Apple Intel is going to be a slow roll out and a camera button is what they can’t shut up about?

They don’t care about Ultra Watch and S10 is an S9 with slightly larger screen (1mm) and thinner design. Literally the only other difference is a “better” screen and water temp/depth sensor LOL

Over a hundred thousand highly paid Apple employees worked for a year to give us these? I mean do they not have a single person working on the AirPods Max? Couldn’t even be bothered dropping in a new chip. Just new colors and usb c… for $550. Ditto Apple Watch Ultra.

Lazy and extremely greedy.

AirPods Max are exactly a big seller so Apple isn’t going to put a whole lot of effort into them. It’s a niche item. They likely changed them to USB-C to keep EU happy and while they were at it threw in a couple of extra colors.

Lol. Come on, Apple. They’re really going to make us wait until the 20th anniversary iPhone to change the camera layout.

These events are meaningless at this point and the products are tired and unimpressive. What I wouldn’t give to have an Apple event feel as exciting as the original iMac, first iPhone, G4 Cube…..everything is just uninspired rubbish from the parts bin. I haven’t lusted for an Apple device since the iPhone 4. Something needs to change.

I’m still most impressed with the hearing protection/test/aids that’s going to be added to the AirPods Pro 2. That’s a huge deal, even if it’s being underplayed.
I honestly thought that was the best part of the event. Even better is Apple isn’t locking it behind a new hardware product but it’s a software update for existing AirPods Pro 2. I would’ve straight up bought AirPods Pro 3 if that was necessary. I think it shows Apple is really trying to help people with their products.

I know that’s what they did… but it literally takes just a phone call to tsmc sales to say hey we need more of that h2 chip. What does it say about a company that won’t even do that but continue to charge a ridiculous amount on a product going into its fifth year?

Thank you MacRumors. This is the video Apple should have released instead of their video Xanax. Or better yet an email blast and press release. There was simply no justification for this event to linger as long as it did. Good news? I didn’t have any expectations or excitement going into this so I was not disappointed. 13 Pro Max life with a soon to be replaced battery. I’ll continue to sit out the feature drip updates, clearly the well is dry. Perhaps next year Apple will have a compelling offering, or Google or OnePlus. Something more exciting than the phone equivalent of beige Apple can’t get past.

Also the showmanship was missing with Tim telling us what’s it gonna be in the first minutes.

Today we are going to talk about Apple Watch iPhones and the AirPods…

I'm trying to watch this now but the most striking thing about this one is the crackhead they put in charge of the music. The combination of ambient synth pad, detuned chiptune vox and doubletime disco beat at every break, is starting to make sense of some of Silicon Valley "culture", between micro-dosing acid all day, the awkward standing & power posing, aggressive praying gesturing, going around scanning peoples pets instead of talking to them lol, I'm no longer sure I want to be on the same spaceship as these people when we leave earth.

I miss the spontaneity and human connection of a live keynote in front of a real audience. These perfectly polished pre-made videos just feel like sterile advertisements, completely disconnected from reality.

USB-C is only required for new products in the EU, so they could have kept the existing model indefinitely.

Is that all it takes? Geez, you should get a job at Apple. I bet you can teach Tim Cook a few things about supply chains because you seem to know more than he does! I bet he doesn’t know all he needed to do is make a phone call and all the sudden there’s H2 chips in AirPods Max.

On more serious note, companies have release cycles for products. It’s not the time to release AirPods Max 2. Just because all the rumor mills hyped up this thing you believed it now you’re disappointed because it wasn’t true. AirPods Max 2 will come out likely sometime next year (my guess) but just not at the iPhone event. Apple isn’t going to release all their new products at one event. The new iPad mini will come out as some speculate in October.

True but sometimes it’s easier not to have two specific regional versions if you don’t need to. They didn’t need to switch to USB-C on the iPhone either for US markets.
