I got to Apple around 2003, purchased my first iBook just for the PowerPC CPU and my ppc/Linux development. Later did commercial macOS and iOS development, got the 1st iPhone which I still have and every second gen after that. But this is just sad; just the naming alone, OMG. And still no USB-C, they really want to sell us dongles forever?!

For the first time I am saying

YESSSSSSSS the Apple Watch look delicious !!!

I gonna get it and skip the IPhone ( Maybe) LOL

Ha ha. I just watched some of it. These billionaires dress like a bunch of slobs with their shirt tails hanging out, in sneakers, with poor fitting clothes. They're trying to make you think they're just like you and me. They're trying too hard. It's all pretty funny. They're not like you and me. They've lost touch with the mainstream. Especially considering their phone gadget costs over $1100 now. Who are they kidding? What a BORING release. Shame on Apple for gouging everyone in a mediocre release.

Sorry for a stupid question but...
If ordering begins on Sept 14 at 12:01 on the west coast, wouldn’t that mean 3:01 am on the east coast?

Or is it 3:01 am on the 15th on the east coast?

So today was evolution, no revolution. Apple learned to pair two homepods to create something called "stereo" and a bunch of phones got louder speakers. The aperture control on the cameras is kind of a big deal, but only to photo geeks (I'm guilty here). Apple built a medic alert (help, I fell and can't get up) into the watch which is a good thing if it works. But overall, bleh, I don't need to shell out about a $1,000+ for new versions of products I already have with very minor improvements. I'm a VERY long time Apple customer. Want to keep my business? Demonstrate that you are on a VERY different path from GOOGLE on the confidentiality of my information. Develop and market a closed ecosystem for my information with a world class security system. I and many Americans and others around the globe would pay a premium for that and would pay a premium to stay exclusively in that ecosystem.

I try not to be a pessimist, but it's getting to the point where watching the keynote and then reading the fine print afterwards is becoming insulting. Along with the years old wall plug and USB-A,, the "New" phones come with no headphone adapter.

Apple makes 23 different dongles — and it would cost you $857 to buy them all. They make millions off these things on top of the $1100 cost of a new phone.

Doesn't it all depend where you are coming from? If you have an X and a 3 series watch, it's not much of a step to throw that much money at. If you have a original watch and an iPhone 4, then it's a good upgrade.

I have a 6 which is getting clunky, so I need a new phone that lasts me a few years. I have a 3 series watch, that still has some years ahead of it to be upgraded/replaced. I really like the ECG feature, but I don't trust it enough to spend unnecessary money on it.

So for 2018, we've got new sizes and colours of the iPhone X, a new low end iPad that's actually a cheaper downgrade from the previous model. A spec bump to the MacBook Pro. And a new Apple Watch?

Did I miss anything?

And Apple's annual R&D budge is up to $15 billion. That truly is magical. How is it possible to spend so much money and deliver so little? I honestly don't believe I could waste $15 billion in one year no matter how hard I tried and Timmy makes it look so easy. He really does have a gift.

This is the quiestest I've seen sites like this following an iPhone keynote.

The magic is certainly gone.

Honestly, I think most of the old fans have moved on from Apple. We weren't trolling, we were venting frustration at the death of the Apple we loved. Even the faintest hope of a redemption is dead.

There's really not much to say, today's keynote speaks for itself. Apple is now nothing but a cheesy toy company for the under 25 crowd. Profitable now, but a very dangerous spot long term.

Apple today held its annual iPhone-centric event, and this year's keynote saw the debut of impressive new iPhone and Apple Watch models.

It took Apple two hours to introduce the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and Apple Watch Series 4 models, but we've recapped the entire event in just six minutes for our readers who want a no-frills overview of all the announcements.

The $999 iPhone XS and and $1,099 XS Max, Apple's two OLED devices in 5.8 and 6.5-inch sizes, were the star of the event, but Apple also introduced the 6.1-inch $749 iPhone XR and impressive new Apple Watch Series 4 models with larger displays, tweaked designs, and an ECG function for better than ever health monitoring.

We've rounded up all of our coverage of today's event in the post below, so make sure to check out everything so you don't miss any of the updates.

Yup. Can’t wait for iOS 13 and the next iPhone.
[doublepost=1536796803][/doublepost]But where the **** is the AirPower???

I thought the keynote was pretty boring overall. Jeff Williams is not a good presenter. Ive's douchey video narration is getting tough to take. He's beginning to sound like a caricature of himself. But Cook's creepy, breathy delivery of certain words, like magical and amazing, was the most off-putting.

I didn't have very high expectations for this keynote, so I wasn't disappointed. The only thing that really impressed me was the new Watch. The fall detection and ECG features are going to be very attractive to older customers. And hypochondriacs. The Watch at least demonstrated some tangible innovations. The new iPhones, despite the improved hardware (which is impressive, performance-wise), didn't bring anything new to the table.

And the price tags are getting a little ridiculous.

I feel like Apple is coasting these days.
