Tap the table/nightstand and it will briefly wake up like the nightstand mode on the watch.I was so excited until I realized this must be for always-on screen devices only? I don't have this on a 12 Pro.

I’ve seen previous discussions re: using automations to operate a smart plug in a similar scenario: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/shortcut-to-turn-off-smart-plug-when-phone-is-charged.2350306/Mind sharing this? Thank you! 🫶🏼
Thats a great use case. I keep my phone far from my bed to reduce the temptation to pick it up at night or first thing in the morning. If i didnt, this sounds like a good use.
Same as you. Used it during beta a few times, but now I don’t bother. Don’t see a point.>Standby Display Options
Is anybody using this? I have a stand that I can wirelessly charge in landscape orientation, and expected to use the mode a lot. I used it for the first day, and forgot about it until I read this article.
Still having issues with that restore. If you can share your method that worked, please do.This also fixes the Restore/DFU restore errors when trying to downgrade from 17.1 to 17.0.2 that were happening with the 15 series.
I've just gone through most of them to hear what they sound. like. I don't think they're any louder, and the default alert tone is still rubbish and audibly low.Reintroduced text tones any louder than before?
I don’t have a alarm clock so I use this every night, I really like it>Standby Display Options

There was a speculation that it got something to do with the firmware/controller of the charging circuitry in iP15 series. They can control the charge limit even if the OS is not running. In older phones you could probably introduce this feature too but it wouldn’t work if the phone is turned off. I don’t know if this explanation is true or false. Your guess is as good as mine. Why only iPhone 15 models? Clearly the percentage can be determined on every model.
On my 14 PM, the tones are definitely louder than they were in 17.0 - I can actually hear them now. Still too quiet but at least on my device the volume has increased a bit.Dangit the sounds are still super low.
Like wtf seriously.
Double tap only works with Apple Music… it doesn’t work with Pandora or Spotify 😭
Doesn’t make sense in my opinion because the iPhones doesn’t have a real loading when turned off. As soon as you start loading the phone turns on and the OS is booting. There was a speculation that it got something to do with the firmware/controller of the charging circuitry in iP15 series. Wow, that sounds super annoying. So one always has to use the space bar now to reposition the cursor?I found a new feature with beta 2:
And with iOS 17, accidentally selecting autocorrected words happens constantly now, as it will always select a word instead of repositioning the cursor
That still doesn't make a lot of sense, because you can have a shortcut be triggered on a certain battery percentage (there's just no action to turn off charging then). There was a speculation that it got something to do with the firmware/controller of the charging circuitry in iP15 series. iPhoneOS went away a very long time ago 😂I hope they release a beta of iPhoneOS 17.1 soon!
Yep. Needs this when I’m using Stand By on my 14 Pro.Why only iPhone 15 models? Clearly the percentage can be determined on every model.
It should be automatic though.I created an automation to tell me to stop charging once the battery hits 80%.
That’s normal. You should get the notification in the Notification Centre but no sound will play if your wearing your watchAnyone else not getting message alerts on iPhone 15 Pro. Only seem to get them if i'm not wearing my watch.
I don’t let my phone charge over night. This is how you get a low battery health.Very convenient to be woken up at night.
