Still some bugs:

- The native video player (in safari for instance) doesn’t work as well as in iOS 16. You could start swiping left or right anywhere on the screen to scrub through the video, now it just moves the whole video. Nobody needs that.

- When long pressing space bar to use the keyboard as a trackpad to move the typing indicator, it can’t use the top or sides of the screen to recalibrate, so, try this: make a note in the notes app with more than a few lines of text > Place your cursor in the top line > Press and hold space > Move your finger all the way up the keyboard > Now move down again. What should happen: the cursor should immediately follow the downwards motion. What happens: only when reaching the initial position (on the space bar) the cursor joins the movement. Therefore you cannot move the cursor down because you’re already at the bottom of the screen. It’s like when using a mouse, you should be able to move the mouse across your entire desk to the right (keeping the cursor slammed against the right edge of the screen) but as soon as you move back only an inch, the cursor should follow. The way this feature now works is that you have to move aaall the way back across the desk for the cursor to pick up the mouse movement. That is Super Annoying. And a bit hard to explain, hence my long story. :)

Biggest bug I've found so far is related to maps/offline maps. It may also be related to the fact I have dual SIM on my phone.

What tends to happen is when I'm in the car and make or receive a phone call, navigation continues as normal. When I end the call, I get a small banner at the top of the maps in CarPlay that says "Using Offline Maps". I can get it to go back to using online maps if I force close the app and restart. I'm thinking it may have to do with taking a call on one line when my phone typically uses data from the other line and it doesn't hand it back off after the call is over.

Is anyone having a problem with the media view in messages? The last couple of betas im only about to see about 10 or so pics in threads that I have hundreds of pics. No matter what I do im still seeing pretty much the same amount of pics and not the amount I saw before.

I don’t know if everyone noticed, but now on beta 7 stickers made with the iOS 17 sticker maker now will work as actual stickers in WhatsApp, instead of full pictures like in previous betas!

I currently on iOS 16 but why is it that I'm only seeing iOS 17 Beta 5? Do I have to upgrade to that first (which I'm currently in the process of doing) and then I'll see iOS 17 Beta 17?

Something i noticed (small bug) is that when in the Mail app, if you start an email and then just drag it down (as an open draft) going back to the actual email threads changes the background (in dark mode) from black to light gray. IMG_2965.png

The second screenshot is normal, the first one shows it with the open “new message” in the bottom and the background isn’t the same.IMG_2967.png

It was weird and left me confused if i was just seeing things for a couple of minutes

Currently I am running iOS 17 Dev Beta 7 The problem is that I don’t like where the End Call Button is located that is because I keep on hitting it accidentally every time, that is very close to the Home Bar I liked the location where it was before, on the lower right corner that is because I am an leftie and have medium sized hands, but where I hold my iPhone is where people normally hold it , but the End Call button is hard to press it, while I want it to be easier to press it

They should have build the mood tracking feature into FaceID unlocking. Additionally examining the facial expression with an AI would be much more precise than self reflection.

But shame on me for writing Apple and AI in the same sentence.

I believe the latest public beta is "beta 5" and the latest developer beta is "beta 7"; there is no "beta 17." So either there is a typo in your question, and you meant "7" -- in which case, the answer to your question might be to simply opt into the developer betas -- or you may be conflating the major version number (iOS 17) with the beta patch release number.

If you were indeed thinking of the developer betas: keep in mind that those are likely to be just a bit less stable than the public betas -- though, the two beta channels will probably converge as we come closer to the release candidate.

I have the 12 Pro and am planning on upgrading to the 15 Pro Max, so I’ve considered downloading the public beta just to check it out. Sounds like it’s pretty safe to use?
