This is the problem with using ‘glass’ as the primary material for all interface elements: it’s not versatile.

Just because they can layer it to create interesting effects doesn’t mean it will translate to a productive, intuitive and USABLE interface.

I’m speechless at how they haven’t understood this. It’s the reason that in their new Human interface guidelines they suggest devs don’t use transparency in icons where inappropriate (and they’re forced to use glass which, y’know, is usually transparent); yet they create a Mail icon with a transparent envelope.

Absolutely mind boggling.
I used to laugh at people who were saying that Apple is going downhill. And it’s not about the sales. People will buy whatever. Like think Labubu. It’s just they are lacking a vision now for where they are heading. Just talking the talk and making sure that board members are satisfied with their checks.

People are saying the silence unkown calls isn't working. They said it wasnt working in beta 2 and now beta 3. They said the option in settings>apps>phone>send to voicemail option isn't showing. Send to voicemail option is suppose to be above send unknown calls to unknown caller list and it is not there. Some say it might be a esim issue.

I wish they'd just give up on the redesign and continue with minor tweaks to the current iOS 18 interface.

Seriously, who asked for this? iOS looks fine as it is today.
This particular move feels more change for change’s sake than anything anyone asked for/wanted.

Reserving full judgement until that first public beta lands. But so far, not excited to move from where we are now, with regard to OS aesthetic. This is the first iOS update to which I’ve not been looking forward.

As someone who is using iOS 26 and *like* Liquid Glass's transparency in most regards, they really should be setting the opaqueness as an option in Accessibility. Being able to see through stuff is nice in many occasions.
Agreed. Apple is probably afraid of a torrent of calls from people who can't handle a simple choice like that.

... had a great comment on not being able to see the MacOS update on my M series Mac...then reread the title of this thread. just kidding... lol (and couldn't figure out how to delete this)

Did they implement the light and dark variants of the wallpapers incorrectly? Some of them seem to switch their colors between their light and dark mode version with another color, where it makes more sense for variant C's light mode to be connected with variant D's dark mode and visa versa.

Also; lol at the clock not being readable on one of the default wallpapers.

Either do the redesign or don’t. This is no longer a redesign though and has little to do with glass…it is just a tweaked iOS18. It has almost nothing left from the Meet Liquid Glass design video.
For all of the hype Apple put out regarding liquid glass they have nearly completely backpedaled. Having been using iOS26, beta 2 was looking really good and was showing much improvement since beta 1. Did it still need some design tweaks, yes. But instead of making careful and thoughtful adjustments in a surgical way, this feels like they just took a sledge hammer and said screw it. It is a huge over correction. Bring a slider into accessibility for those who still have readability issues, otherwise stick to your design goals.
