There have been some complaints about the changes that Apple is continuing to make, with some users suggesting that Apple is eliminating too much of the transparency that makes iOS 26 unique.
I agree, the backtracked changes look tacky and cheap. They're just reverting it back to iOS 18. Why even release iOS 26 with a new design language then.

”Apple has toned down the transparency of the navigation bars. The look is more opaque to make the buttons more legible.”

It’s an improvement, but still pretty bad. The old (current) design just looks so much simpler, cleaner, and more elegant to my eye.

Beta 1: people freak out because they think the design is final and they will never adjust the transparency to make it more readable

Beta 3: people freak out because they think the design is final and they will never adjust the transparency to make it more like glass

THESE ARE BETAS!
THEY CHANGE THINGS ON PURPOSE FOR TESTING AND TO GATHER FEEDBACK!
Seriously all this fake outrage is tiring

People seem to be confusing the design system with "transparency" — that's not it. Liquid Glass isn't about transparency, it's about the light affecting elements like they were made of glass — and glass can be transparent, opaque, and all stops in between. It's about the elements in space and how they interact with reflections, and refractions over perceived light, but transparency isn't the cornerstone of it. It's an oversimplification... like saying Material Design is only about replicating stacks of digital paper.

whats going to happen to the marketing material, it shows it as real liquid glass, would they have to change it when it ships and doesnt look like that

in their new Human interface guidelines they suggest devs don’t use transparency in icons where inappropriate … yet they create a Mail icon with a transparent envelope.

I sense there may be some internal struggle going on at Apple between those writing the HIG, who care about things like UX, consistency, readability and accessibility, and the pixel-pushers who like to demonstrate the capabilities of the platform and show off flashy visual effects.

And at the end of the day we’ll end up with a watered-down middle ground that makes neither side particularly happy.

iOS 26 beta 3:
Liquid glass without the glass - but with all the bugs you know and love!!

Yeah, but isn’t it ridiculous?
So much fuss about the glass effects on the event and then all the fanboys yapping all over the internet how genius it is just to dial it all down?
Do they even test what they create? How on earth no one said that this glassy design only looks cool in the promo videos?
"Do they even test what they create?"

Uhhhhh, that's LITERALLY what they are doing now with the beta!!

Apple doesn't listen, people get pissed. Apple listens, people get pissed.

A toggle seems like the most logical choice, but you have to admit, the internet is never pleased 😂
It’s not about the internet.
There’s no news that GA doesn’t exist and people don’t know what they want.
The problem is that Apple has no idea where they are going.
