I’ve been running the beta since the start. Beyond the liquid glass issue, the rounding of every element looks CHEAP they seriously lose a lot of space to work. Notice how they will never round the keyboard letters. Why? The more squared look is better!

Maybe they should have consulted with Siri and her AI.. maybe it will teach them on how to do a simple redesign.. oh I forgot, Siri still doesn't have AI.. let's go with Google Gemini then..

At this rate by the time we hit GM there won’t be much left of “Liquid Glass”. Honestly what’s the point introducing this anymore? I also don’t get why Apple doesn’t just give users the option to choose how much transparency they want system wide. Adding a slider somewhere obvious in Settings and while setting up your device should be easy enough.

The constant in life is that, irrespective of what a company does, it will be deemed a disaster which will sink that company (until it doesn’t). Honestly when did communities / fanbases become relentlessly toxic? Why follow a company or genre etc if you hate it so much? It’s hard to take seriously, so I’m just going with the flow and giggling at the hyperbole. I try to be an optimist, so I choose to believe the self-importance of some posters is deliberately parodic.

When companies became relentlessly toxic. As Apple has become.

Maybe Apple has just been bad ever since Steve passed (rip).

The lack of consistency is killing me. Last year they were all about customization. Give people the tools to play around with the glass effects since you are all about customization now.
They’d have to optimize each custom variant for performance. They need to get the default theme optimized first.

Man what a shame this looks nothing like liquid glass. I actually loved the change, it looked so refreshing. More white & boring again…

I've actually never complained about their OS designs, until now, and it's not even a complaint. I just don't understand their direction these days. They have literally almost perfected macOS now, in my humble opinion, and now they go and screw it all up. And for iOS, instead of actually adding some functionality and truly thinking up something fresh, all they did was come up with a redesign that feels more like a skin (and a very illegible one) and nothing else.

iOS 26 beta 3 completely nerfs Liquid Glass. It looks so much cheaper now and feels like Apple is backtracking on their original vision.
This is literally anti apple and I’m so disappointed. Steve “you’re holding it wrong” “I’ll tell them what they need” jobs would never have allowed this. I hate that tim is always playing it safe. Anyway

Social media drama queens have made this problem exponentially worse.

All it takes is one TikTok with the caption “APPLE IS DOOMED WITH iOS 26 LIQUID A**” showing the worst possible beta render of the new UI to get people to hate it virally.

Oh, people love to side with the popular opinion no matter how far it is from reality as long as they can be part of the group/echo chamber.

I've complained long and loud about it.

They had Mac OS design nearly perfect with 10.4. The mirrored dock after that was cool, the brushed metal not so much. And it took a leap off a cliff with 10.10, it's been getting worse ever since.

No, we don't.

We need something BETTER. Like iOS 6.

Bring back normal ordinary skeuomorphism. No flat garbage, no excessive transparency, just good, usable, attractive design.
Liquid glass was the closest thing we had to skeuomorphism since iOS 7 and now we can’t have it because some people were complaining. As a meter of fact Liquid glass was completely skeuomorphic because it was imitating a real life material. It was just a matter of getting used to it like with any redesign
