I really like the features of the new app, but the data seems to be less accurate than iOS 15.

For instance, we're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight with a cold front passing through. But the iOS weather app has no rain on the hourly forecast.

Experiencing that right now, partially due to discrepancies due to exact location. We're currently experiencing a thunderstorm at my house and rain is coming down, but Weather says it's "partly cloudy" at my current location. However, I also have my town name input as one of the locations, which uses a weather station about a mile away at town hall, and that reads correctly as thunderstorms.

Will it finally be possible to change the pressure from inHg to hPa or mb ?
It’s showing in hPa - not sure whether it’s depending on the location… (I’m in Europe)

Thanks ! I'm in Europe too but set the region as US for different reasons . Could you please make a screen shot of the Language and Region page ? I read somewhere that there was an extra setting line added with iOS 16 .Somewhere between Region , Language and Temperature Unit .

My experience, up til the latest beta, here in Switzerland is that the forecast doesn't seem to update.

As an example, checking the forecast for tomorrow is relatively close to that I get from meteo.search.ch but when the day comes, and the search.ch app/widget updates regularly with new forecast info, the stock iOS 16 weather app doesn't.

This leads to situations where a predicted severe thunderstorm is no longer forecast to happen (mainly as it's already dropped, say, 50km away) but the Apple app still keeps warning about it.

It has been over the news since mid August. It appears that it is being tested but no detail on region or how broad a test audience.
Where was the weather app discussed? AFAIK it was about sponsored top results in Maps.

I’ve liked Dark Sky but going by how Apple has integrated apps that they have purchased in the past I don’t expect Apple Weather to become Dark Sky, but with an Apple name. There is an almost-good sameness with most Apple apps, where they take away features that are different or efficient or insightful because of NIH-not invented here- and re-insert the look and feel from Apple apps that were invented at Apple.

They don’t buy intellectual property to incorporate it, they buy them to prevent the competition from getting it.

You would think then that the displayed information would be accurate if the source is accurate.
Sadly the displayed data is often wrong. Hopefully fixed by launch day.
I’ll frequently show different forecast data from my friend or family right next to me.

Perhaps the Measurement System - Metric..? I haven’t found anything else 🙂

Maybe it’s time to finally ditch Carrot as my main weather. This update is impressive

I don’t know if I’m wiling to do that just yet. While I’m not a huge fan of paying for a weather app, Carrot seems to be pretty freggin awesome.

dew point is shown on both the iPhone and Apple Watch in IOS16
So what??? I can no longer ask Siri what the dew point is is, on my iPhone (iOS 16) and Apple Watch. I had been doing that just fine up till about three months ago. This is a downgrade for me right now. Dewpoint is more important than the absurd relative humidity, that means nothing if you do not know the dewpoint.

They killed Dark Sky for THIS?! Awful. Laden with ads or the option of paying $10 a month for is to be found for free all over the app store. This smacks of Apple Maps and we all know how terrible that still is... Come on Apple. Leave Dark Sky alone and give your people a choice.

I just tried and it worked. I’m on 16.1 just in case it makes any difference.
I mistyped: I meant to type dew point. Relative humidity is not an issue. But relative humidity is rather pointless without knowing the dew point. I truly hope whatever idiot in the United States decided that relative humidity would be more important than dewpoint is rotting in hell.

I find relative more important to me than dewpoint.
