Wow, that’s interesting. I love Dark Sky, I hope this will have it’s ease of use. It looks complicated with all the different screens… 🤷Dark Sky app now says it will end support Jan 2023 because of iOS 16 integration.

Will it finally be possible to change the pressure from inHg to hPa or mb ?
Is there anything here for those not in America - ie. the use of local Bureau of meteorology sources, so that, you know, the weather App can accurately perform its main function?……
I don’t care about the predictions, but actual weather is what I want. Weather is using "best-ish guess". Use the countries offical (accurate) weather please.
Do we know who is feeding the data for the app? Especially in Canada? Weather.com is tok IS centric and often wrong for Canadian locations.
Wondering where Apple sources its data? I find the weatherzone app more reliable.
Yeah, enjoy that while it lasts. By the sounds of it, it won't be for long though...Always used AccuWeather for radar only, but now that they are peppering me with ads, looks like I'll just go to the default iOS app.
This. As long as it is The Weather Channel it is irrelevant to me.I wish we Could choose who provides the data to the weather app.
Would love to have SMHI as data provider
Thanks. Wow, they state the Australian bureau of meteorology (BOM) as one of their sources, but that can’t be right as the forecast never lines up with that of the BOM. I don’t get it…
I’m probably missing something but in the latest iOS Beta with these new weather functions I can’t find an hourly chart of rain chance. There’s a widget I can put on the Lock Screen that shows a single chance value but I’m not sure if it’s an average for the day, a maximum or a current value. There’s the precipitation module in the app that shows the amount of precipitation but without chance it doesn’t mean a lot. Is this a big omission by Apple?
Luckily enough I can still see the hourly chance of rain on my Apple Watch which is using the latest official watchOS, not beta.
TWC used to be a great app...and website...and channel. I deleted that silliness a few months ago.This. As long as it is The Weather Channel it is irrelevant to me.
Yeah but that’s the precipitation amount in mm. What I need is also the precipitation chance in percentage for every hour. These both should be presented together. Consider the following: there’s 100% chance of light rain at 10 AM VS there’s 20% chance of heavy rain at 5 PM. In Carrot you see them both on the same chart. In the iOS Weather app you see only a single percentage value on the main screen but I’m not sure if it’s an average for the day ahead or current chance (or max? But when?). Oddly enough, on the Apple Watch there’s hourly chance in percentage but not amount. It’s the regular Apple mess… 😕It is there if you click on hourly forecast section and then switch to rain. ✋

Can anyone tell me if the iOS 16 weather app now gives detailed hourly weather for more than 24hrs, then just daily?
I find the current iOS 15 weather app useless because this is all it does.
If like lunchtime today (weds), I'm pondering if it's raining tomorrow evening so I can ride my bike, I just get hourly til tomorrow lunchtime, then if the rest of thursday and friday are just a single percentage rain cloud I have no idea which part of the day is likely to be bright/dry or drizzling. Hence the current one is totally useless compared to DarkSky, BBC Weather, Met Office, or any of the other weather apps out there. Only 24 hrs of hourly weather, then just daily might be ok if you live somewhere like California where I guess it's pretty hot most of the time, but useless in the UK where it can often be relatively dry most of the day, but drizzling for a few hours. All weather forecasts are somewhat unreliable, but I regularly use a 3-day forecast to largely give me the right idea if it's raining in the morning, afternoon or evening in a day or two's time.
I'll be super annoyed if they shut down DarkSky while only giving me 24hrs of useful weather, then just 1 weather icon per day for the next 10 days.
Radar maps are in the iOS 15 Weather App but they're unnecessarily hard to locate because by default Apple defaults the view to temperature (at least if there's no rain nearby). Look for a map showing a temperature gradient, click on See more, click on the Layers icon, and switch to Precipitation. Granted I'm US-based but the map shows global radar data when zoomed out so I'm not sure why it would be disabled for non-US/UK/IRE locales.“Next-hour precipitation forecasts and precipitation notifications are available for Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.”
I’m assuming OP doesn’t live in one of the 3 locations that supports the feature.
I’m in Canada and don’t have precipitation or radar in the weather app (that I can see at least).
Why is no one mentioning the elephant in the room? There is one weather app feature that I can't do without, and I can't believe Apple's app still doesn't have.
Weather Radar
Until it includes a weather radar, the app will remain woefully incomplete.
It is there if you click on hourly forecast section and then switch to rain.
