I am becoming less and less of a fan of IOS. One of my favorite things about IOS was that I knew exactly what to expect. More or less the experience was going to be the same no matter what device I went to. Jump to current IOS and there are so many bugs and variables that I am just never sure what will fully work. The questions that I have to ask too often "what bug fix am I going to have to Google today?" "Will this feature actually work the way I expect it to?" I am tired of over hyped features, I just want a stable OS.
I agree that bugs do seem more prominent these days but I think it has to do with how much advancement there has been in the software....it's way ahead of previous generation iPhones and therefore bugs are way more likely to creep in.
What are the other options....Android....if you think that will be any better, then I wish you the best of luck.

I shall code name this build "Courageous", for all the courage this battery indicator redesign must be taking.

Incredible work here, I'm sure Love From and Jony's entire consulting team is working 24/7 on these incredible innovations :).

I thought he didn’t do any work for Apple anymore?

It's a bit of a joke/jab b/c I really don't like what he did to Apple that they're still pulling themselves out of, but in all seriousness, I keep hearing that he is no longer consulting/Love From isn't involved and then I keep hearing he and/or Love From consulted on this/that, and he keeps showing up to releases, so maybe that's just a heritage thing, but I doubt he is completely excised from that design team, even if formally there is no engagement.

Any ideas yet on when 16.1 might release? Definitely want to install this one asap

I’m so happy the charging indication over the date is back! I was hoping it would come back in the beta period so I could get rid of my battery widget, but was sure it was gone for good once I saw the dynamic island announced. Happy day for me and my 13 pro!
Can you explain what you're referring to?

Getting complaints that when tethered to lexus using USB cord that the iPhone 14 phone audio oscillates from dim to normal and back to dim. However, when using iPhone 14 Pro speaker and disconnected from USB the audio clears up and they can understand me. Not sure if this is iOS 16.01 or the iPhone 14 Pro.

Hoping Navigation is addressed. I tried using it today when driving and it was an utter disaster. Got lost so many times because it wouldn’t accurately show my location. 🫠🫠🫠😩😩😩

Sorry iPhone 14 users, you are going to have to wait weeks with no fix for your shiny new cameras so that Apple can align the update with its iPad event :(
Source?

Just because 16.1 resolves the issue, doesn’t mean they can’t release a separate update before that to fix the camera shake issue.

Then release iOS 16.1 along with iPadOS 16.1. I believe next week was targeted for a camera fix.

I’m on the earlier 16.1 beta. How do I get this version?

Edit: it’s only been release to developers, not the public beta Users.

Hmm. This update broke MagSafe charging on my 14 Pro

EDIT: OK. It works fine with the regular MagSafe charger. But with the MagSafe Duo, which interferes with the camera bumps and doesn't allow a perfectly aligned connection to be made, is far more fussy. Where as before this update it would still charge despite being titled a bit because of the the camera bumps, now it simply won't charge unless I get it JUST right. Even though it's still being held in place by the magnets some, though with the tilt I mentioned.
I don’t have this issue at all and MagSafe duo with 14 PM. I do have an apple case on it; not sure that matters

As noted in AppleInsider, I noticed in Control Center, that there is no "control" for my HomeKit enabled light unless I click on Home first. If I go into Settings, toggle "Show Home Control" then open Control Center with the Settings open it will show up, but as soon as I close Settings, it disappears again. This is surely a big bug! It operated like normal in the last version of iOS 15 and it's pretty irritating that I have to go through three screens just to turn on or off my light. Hopefully this is fixed in iOS 16.1!
I am not seeing this bug …

Have to restart several times a day to fix quirks in iOS 16 on my 14. Will be nice when we are out of alpha stage and into beta.
Would have been better to offer iOS 15.7 to 14 users for stability.

I wish Apple let us change the color of the battery status to make it easier to see.
The amount of innovation & courage needed for that simply outstrips current technology. This will be an iOS 18 feature at the earliest.

*Not an AAPL hater, but still firmly rooted in reality and I'm becoming more and more dumbfounded by what is being passed off as "new" and "innovative" by the largest, most well funded, most vertically integrated technology company the world has seen..

  • GPS is definitely acting normal in beta 2 on my 14PM
  • The camera shake bug I was able to reproduce in TikTok only. And once. Once I force quit the app it never came back, even after reboots. Other apps like halide, ProCam, IG, all work fine
  • There’s a different junk reporting prompt now in messages. Before it used to say “delete” or “report junk” first with junk the first option. It was annoying. Now you see this. Far better. (This was also in beta 1)

Does anybody know what’s going on with iMessage and the iPhone 14 Pro Max? Since I got my new phone, iMessage is buggy. It sends as text messages instead of iMessage.

Also, the Mail app on iPhone isn’t marking my unread messages as read if I read them on a different device.

Checked with another friend and they report very dim/low volume with USB cord connection to car that immediately corrects when I switch to phone speaker or AirPod Pros
