Hmmmm your life sounds really tough..... how about you DON'T show anyone and they won't "taint" your phone.

Is this really an issue for you? If it is may I suggest you re-prioritize your life and worry about more important issues... it's a phone after all.
All this.

Does the new iPhone come with perspective? It seems to be something that some people lack today.

That's not true. There are people that ordered and won't get it for weeks. There are people that are eligible for upgrade.
And then there are what I run into a lot, Andriod users. When my coworkers get new phones we always have a show and tell because most of us have different phone completely. I really like johns HTC OneX when we got that a few years ago. Another guy has a Nokia 920, which is terrible and heavy.

But yeah. That's what I find. Many people can't get one or don't want one but are still interested in the device.

I guess because my work provides people with phones, it is a different atmosphere. I refused my work phone because they don't do iPhones yet. The only other person excited about the iPhones that I know is my personal trainer and I'd let her look at it if she wanted.

I am going to a wedding that exact night and am DREADING it! I don't even want to take out my phone haha.
Seriously? You're afraid your new phone will steal the spotlight at a wedding?

Speaking to this thread in general, if you don't draw special attention to your new phone, most people probably won't notice or care that much.

Get over it it's just a phone. Would you rather come across as full of yourself?

I don't hesitate to let anyone who wants to see it touch mine and I have Amex accidental damage coverage in case they drop it, etc.

Anybody else fearing the dozens of coworkers asking to fondle your new phone on Friday? I know some people like the attention, but I just want to enjoy my phone in peace. I tend to baby my stuff and can't stand grubby hands carelessly fumbling with my pristine iPhone.

I already have a feeling that by the end of the day Friday, my phone is going to be tainted with stupid office photos, random outgoing calls and smudges from greasy faces.

I feel like calling in sick...
If you call in sick Friday, then it'll just happen Monday.

I don't have a problem letting others borrow my phone to see weight, size and aesthetics. However, using my phone is a different matter. It's always password protected when I hand it over. I also have an LCD cleaning spray and several microfiber cloths in my desk drawer. :p

I know this will happen to me (provided I'm at work Friday). I don't mind because I like looking at other peoples new and shinys.

Inevitably though there is always the person(s) that "pretend to drop your new phone".

First world problems. Getting a phone on day one then complaining that too many people want to check it out.

Get a life

Seriously... this is an issue? You must live a very privileged and sheltered life. Keep your phone away and don't flash it. It is as simple as that.

With the 5 and 5s, many people asked to try it and wanted me to show them the fingerprint thing. It was funny to see how many "regular" users were so into the new iPhone. I don't really mind but once this girl went into my messages! Not very nice.

Lol it shall be interesting for me. My wife will be inheriting my 5 that day and she is using my old 4 currently and when we are in the car she is constantly asking "Can I see your phone?" so it will be interesting as we have about a 4 hour drive that night to go see family. She will likely be in charge of music though so that is acceptable ;)

I call BS. The only thing early adopters love more than getting the phone first, is other people noticing they got the phone first. They typically pull it out in public hoping someone will ask 'hey, is that the new iPhone?' Maybe they don't want strangers pawing it at....but a lot of them like being noticed for having the new phone.

Just a little guilty as charged :D I don't "hope" they will ask, I just know they will :p

So you pre-order a phone so that you can be among the very first to have one, but then complain that others might want to SEE it?

Things that make you go, hmmmm....

I've been carrying my iPhone 6+ wood mock-up to work with me everyday for the past week; practicing how to covertly retrieve it from my pocket to make phone calls.

OMG! Please tell me that's a joke

Keep it in your pocket then or in your desk and call it a day until you get home for the finger banging.

I live for this stuff.

When the original iPad came out I had the first one at 4:01 PM and by 4:15 PM I was in Starbucks and you'd think I was Steve Jobs, people lining up to take photos with me.
