Is this thread for real?

Oh, it's real buddy. But I mean, there's just so much wrong here.

I wouldn't hand my phone to a stranger, ever. I can't have people looking at my photos and seeing shots of me sleeping with a box of donuts.

Moreover, what if they load up Amazon and start ordering Fleshlights in bulk? Then I'd have way too many.

And think of the implications for my business. I have sensitive contracts in my email. Co-worker gets a hold of my phone? Suddenly we've lost the deal with Bento & Co.

Those boxes are huge right now, seriously.

First world problems. Getting a phone on day one then complaining that too many people want to check it out.

More like...bragging that you have one, then complaining that too many people want to check it out. Like the guy further up on this page, who said that a bunch of people have already asked to play with it. He must have boasted about the iPhone 6 he just ordered, or made a big show out of the wait for it, or otherwise announced it somehow.

Lol. To be honest when I get devices like that (and will be the same with the iP6), I never brag or let anyone know. If they find out or see it, then great. Gotta stay modest else you come across an arrogant rich prick.

Lol, first question my roommate asked when I got to work on Monday was "How many/which iPhones did you order?" :p

Not really bragging. It's more like most people already know that I'm a tech addict. My co-workers buy Audis, BMWs and Lexus. I buy smartphones and tablets. I think my hobby is still cheaper.

This has to be the most stupid thread ever. i can't imagine my work colleagues would be the least bit interested in my new iPhone. In fact, i'm not the sort of person who says look at me, I have a new iPhone, do you want a go with it. Its just a phone. I'm looking forward to my new iPhone, but lets be honest, its not really any better than most other phones out there.

I'm really hoping that most of these threads are in fact people just trolling to see who takes the bait.

There can't possibly be people that legitimately think like this, can there?

I'm staying optimistic.

There are plenty of people out there that think like this. If I had to guess most of them are younger than 18.

Agreed. By 'colleague' they probably actually mean school friend. Out of interest, if people are genuinely worried how they're colleagues (as in actual grown up work mates) will react to a new iPhone, i wouldn't mind knowing what job they do.

I have that problem where people want to have my phone to do something on it, like just read something on the web or check a status/Tweet. I'm just talking about my phone in general, not because of the model/brand (5s).

I think it just requires a bit of a cold approach when people ask or try to have a look at it. Just pick it up and hold it back. Really annoys me because for me personally, my phone is a very personal object to me and is also crazy expensive anyway so other people looking at it is not a good idea.

Anybody else fearing the dozens of coworkers asking to fondle your new phone on Friday? I know some people like the attention, but I just want to enjoy my phone in peace. I tend to baby my stuff and can't stand grubby hands carelessly fumbling with my pristine iPhone.

I already have a feeling that by the end of the day Friday, my phone is going to be tainted with stupid office photos, random outgoing calls and smudges from greasy faces.

I feel like calling in sick...

Umm you do know there is this thing called the 2nd amendment right?

I've been carrying my iPhone 6+ wood mock-up to work with me everyday for the past week; practicing how to covertly retrieve it from my pocket to make phone calls.

I don't think I'll have any problems flying under the radar. At least until a few other ppl get their phones next month.

that's presumptuous AF. are you kidding me?

I don't know if this warrants such a high level of anxiety, but if people ask to play with my phone I usually just tell them no and explain to them why:

It's nothing personal, but I had a gal at Starbucks drop my iPhone 5 when she took it to input the card numbers because their scanner was busted. Fortunately I was within my accident protection timeframe through AMX so I was able to get it replaced; but it's still quite an inconvenience, especially at the beginning with stocks are limited.

((I don't think they are allowed to handle customer's phones anymore.))

I have a bet with my sister that it would take 6 months for someone at work to notice my new 6+. I don't really flash it around when I get a new iPhone. The Android users will think that I got a Samsung phone. The iPhone users in the Office don't really keep with the new iPhones until they have to get a new phone.

Luckily I don't have friends that act like prepubescent teens around an iPhone. They have more important things to worry about in life than to care about what phone I have, or to want to look at it and hold it.

lol I love showing off my new phone. *shrug*

Hmmmm your life sounds really tough..... how about you DON'T show anyone and they won't "taint" your phone.

Is this really an issue for you? If it is may I suggest you re-prioritize your life and worry about more important issues... it's a phone after all.

Gracious to be posting among the morally superior. Thank you for coexisting among us lessors. :)

I completely get it. Get their own phone. Who knows where their hands have been?

And, every two years, good idea to take a "mental health" day. If it happens to coincide with the iPhone 6, then so be it :)

My phone will NOT be a demo phone for Apple, thanks to this thread.

not too worried about it. most of the people i work with are iPhone haters with their precious Samsung Galaxy 5 and notes 3's..
