In my experience, pressure on the screen can cause spots like that to develop.
Do you think it will be replaced under warranty? I have a card case and use a well padded sleeve so I doubt it is the pressure.
Several other users have reported the same issue. Many say its due to the heat again which is a design flaw

My concern is that the screen replaced can have issues like an uneven tint etc.

Also can I ask the Executive Relations as some sort of a compensation as additional warranty or free magic mouse or something since I have been having multiple issues since I got my mac?

that seems to be defective....

About "uneven tint" I stand my position.
Yes I know it is defective,
What is your stand on the uneven tint and backlight bleed,
I am sorry I am saying all of this since I have had a bad previous experience with screen replacements.

Do you know anyone who has replaced their screen and has landed a perfectly fine screen?

Jeasus... just bring it to the Apple Store and ask for replacement.
I do not have an Apple store, only AASP which are not even remotely as good as the Apple Genius Bars and I have had a dreadful experience with them previously that is why I am hesitant.

Heat ? There is no heat applied to the display lid of a MacBook.
I don't know what caused that damage on your notebook, but it's hardly heat.

I don't know if Apple will replace it under warranty, you'll need to contact Apple to find out.

when your computer runs hot and you immediately close it, it comes in contact with the keyboard and trackpad hence the heat from there comes in contact with the screen

several users have reported the similar issue and it seems to be a manufacturing defect.

It doesn't matter, those users don't get to decide if Apple will cover your screen under warranty. I can't figure out why you haven't contacted Apple yet.

White spots are typically caused by pressure. A tiny bit of heat from the keyboard isn't going to cause this.

I haven't ever dropped my machine or applied any sort of pressure to it.
This is the first time that in a year and a half something like this has occurred to me.

I have, I have sent an email to the Executive Relations Team, awaiting their reply.
Does it make more sense to keep them in a loop or directly approach a third party AASP?
The Apple Executives Team are generous and can work magic from my past experiences.

never seen a MBP with an hot keyboard or trackpad..... the heat is dissipated near the hinge or on the bottom....

I'm not saying you did, I'm just pointing out that heat isn't the problem.

Aside from all of the other issues you've had with your display.

Yes true but then Apple replaced my machine and this is the first issue with this machine.

I hope they cover it under warranty.

I am sorry for being paranoid just that due to my past experience, I am a little scared for a replacement,

Do you have any tips on how to deal with the Apple Team, shall I show them that I am annoyed and frustrated or shall i be nice and plead them for help?

Just point out the problem and ask them what they can do to fix it. Getting annoyed and frustrated isn't going to help anyone.

Okay so I had a conversation and so far so good.

I wanted to know if Apple do end up replacing the screen will they replace it with A02A or A029 which are for the current 2015 machines or will they replace it with the older ones A018/A020 etc.
Are the screens compatible with each and every years model or is a specific screen compatible with only that years model in which it was initially shipped with

Apple will replace the screen with the part that is compatible with your system. I don't know which P/N they'll be using, and most likely Apple won't know either.

My machine is the 2015 version hence I am assuming they will use the A02A or A029 part since they are the ones shipping with the 2015 models.

Shall I tell them that spot is called Mura spot and as people suggest it is caused due to pressure or will they then blame it on me and term it under accidental damage?

I just hope that the screen doesn't suffer from any issues, aside from the mura spot I love the colors of my screen.

You're putting way too much thought into this. Just point out the issue and ask them what they can do to fix it.

They'll replace the screen if they determine its a manufacturing defect. The screen you get will either be good or bad.

Stop over thinking things.

Hey everyone,
I cannot even state how disappointed and frustrated I am with Apple, I swear I shall never purchase another apple product again.
So here is my long story short,
I had the 2014 Rmbp which when i took to the AASP they scratched the screen and then I got it replaced after contacting Apple Support since then I got three screens replaced in total as all of them suffered from various back light bleed and yellow tint issue. It was literally a pain to get all this done.
It took 3 months of my life, everyday out of which I would talk to Apple Support and send several emails to get this issue rectified and then they claimed they wouldn't do anything .

I contacted Tim Cook on his email id and got a call from the Executive Relations,
fast forward they replaced my machine and gave me the 2015 13inch RMBP which I have been using since 5months.
Just today I noticed that the screen has a mura bright spot which is about a cm long.
The service of apple in my country (India) is horrible! T
The AASP are as good as nothing .
I had a horrifying experience with my first machine, I know if I get this display changed, I have really really good chances of landing a display that has a yellow tint and suffers from backlight bleed.

Shall I take the risk or just live with the bright spot?
My new warranty of the machine expires in June,16.
I still have the email id of the executive relations guy who got me the new machine but I am sure he won't replace my machine but he will replace the display instead.

My question is which is more horrific a bright spot that appears only on white and light colors or a display with backlight bleed and yellow tint?

I literally had to struggle for 3 months everyday speaking to Apple Care for an hour just to get this replacement machine, I can't go through all of that agin!

I will be mostly traveling to the United States next year in April,so shall I get it replaced then by one of the genius bars since as I mentioned the AASP in India suck and I can't go through the lottery system of a screen again.

Please provide me with your suggestions.
Hello, I own a mid 2012 15 inch. I had also got a Mura spot as well on my screen. Just out of warranty from my previous screen replacement because in the Apple Store guy scratched the screen, the warranty ended Oct. 6 for me. But they replaced it anyway. Gotta get a case for it. When I was traveling with the new screen last time. It was marked on the edge.

The later you wait, the more likely you'll just get a screen replacement. My screen was originally replaced in Hong Kong, noe replaced in Canada. Works perfect. I would just call Apple to leave notes for the future. The macs can be serviced anywhere. Jair not iPhone and iPads because of different model numbers available.

Good Luck! ;):)
